U.S. census

A perfect example of how our government doesn't give a crap about our tax dollars.
About 4 days ago I had a knock on the door, a census worker. I was already running late for an appointment and told her I didn't have time but would be home later that afternoon and all day the next day.
She was fine with that and very pleasant.
Yesterday I get an envelope from UPS with tracking telling me how important the census is and how I need to call a certain number to set up an appointment to gather my info.
Are you serious?
UPS with tracking without the questionnaire included? Are they doing this for every damn household where someone isn't home at the time?
This is absurd. I can't imagine how much it cost to send a letter via UPS with tracking.
Things like this are a perfect example of why I can't stand big government.
Absolutely ridiculous.
I'll be calling that number, but whoever answers ain't going to enjoy the conversation, I guarantee it!

The intensity of the response should equal the stakes.

I'm 60 years old, too old to have wasteful government effect me.
The apathy towards the government wasting OUR money is mind boggling.
I have no problem with the census, but have a big problem sending out a one page form letter using UPS with delivery confirmation.
At the very least include the freaking questionnaire and a return envelope.
Whatever, y'all will be paying the bills long after I'm gone.

It is ridiculous--there is a lot of waste and grift in the government because there is no incentive for efficiency and little oversight. That's not a partisan issue. The answer to the problem often becomes partisan.

I agree about wasteful government spending. Didn't they just pass a close to $1 trillion military budget. We pulled our troops out of the middle east, what need is there for that large of a budget?

Gotta replace that 80 billion in military equipment Biden left over seas. Inflation has made that 80 billion a lot more.

I don't care that they sent out a letter other than it would have made more sense to include the questionnaire with a return envelope.
What aggravates me is using UPS with tracking.
Totally unnecessary and costly.
Reading/comprehension is hard for some of you.

What is calling up some poor random CS person and screaming at them going to accomplish?

FYI, all UPS packages have tracking. It's not an additional cost.
