The market has changed drastically, multiple times, in the past 3 years. If you are ripping for value retail isn’t the best place for your dollars anymore. I wouldn't solely lay the blame on the big 3. Panini is also playing their part in allowing this to happen. They're both colluding to set artificial market prices. This is the kind of sh*t that happens when there's a monopoly in an industry. Of course the people that suffer are all the collectors in this hobby who Panini and the big 3 give zero f*cks about. They only care about breakers, who they expect to dump 98% of their product on

It sounds crazy but I remember last year the boxes were giving like 700+ on average. Inserts were selling like crazy.

That was before the crash. Literally apples and oranges and is irrelevant to today's market.

I am sitting on all my Optic Megas and Blasters for now because I do not think the volume was what last years was even.

The volume is definitely same or MORE than last year. Resale pricing has already hit rock bottom just a few weeks after release.

Watched Packman open up a FOTL box and he was missing one of the Swirl FOTL exclusives, and the one he did get was Jusuf Nurkic #’d /11. The rest of the box was pretty terrible. These hobby boxes are going to be just another bloodbath in a long line of bloodbaths.

Lots of surface defects on the cards as well. Almost worse than last year

Straight from the "I only PC lebron" viewpoint.
I don't like most of the inserts at all and hey are a BIG letdown imo...
This years "Stained Glass" looks pretty damn good, and I think is better than last years.
The base looks awesome other than LeBron's photo.
The Lamelo looks great!

Favorite card so far in Hobby is the Finals MVP card.
The color match ones I def will try for.

Looking at the CL they have increased the Jam Masters and other retail hits PR by adding a yellow /99 and Green Fluorescent /10.

Jam Masters is my favorite retail hit of 2019 other than blank slate so I will hold off judging it until seeing a live copy.

4/10 this year .......and I will stick to buying 2019 mosaic crap.

That’s maybe a $100 card if you sell it quickly. Last year’s Kawhi Stained Glass currently sells for about $45-$60 in ungraded condition. If that’s the best hit in the box, I’d consider that pretty terrible for any $700+ box.

Packman ripped a FOTL box though, so with resell at $1200+ that was indeed a terrible box. especially when you get shorted one of the FOTL exclusives. just terrible. but that is par for the course for most of these boxes. gona be an absolute bloodbath for yet another product

You guys are focusing on the wrong things. Looking at Packman's video, the worst about Mosaic was:

- Quality of the cards (the Antman looked awful)
- Collation (duplicate inserts?!)
- Only one numbered card outside of the exclusives

If the exclusive was replaced by a random numbered card (the way hobby should be), that would have been a decent box at 500. But the quality is going to kill any possibility of this being a decent product.

Huh? what do you mean? He ripped FOTL which is $1200+/box. Hobby is $775/box. Are you getting confused with Contenders Optic which was $500/box on Panini's site? There was nothing decent at all about Packman's box, especially at $1200+

i just watched the packman vid. im guessing that the rarity of the inserts are way more common than last years release. last year i believe center stage was 1 per box and stained glass and overdrives were both case hits. maybe only stained glass is case hit this year or maybe straight fire since he didnt get one?
