My favorite players from the 90's are:

1. Rodney Rogers - my absolute favorite player of all time. 'Nuf said.
2. Bryant Stith - I met him and LaPhonso Ellis at an event at the local bank in rural Colorado. I met him again after a Nuggets game as a kid...my dad and I waited out by the player parking lot afterwards to see if we could get any autographs. He signed the basketball I had brought and spent a few minutes chatting with us. Very genuine and kind man. And being a Nuggets fan in the 90's, he was pretty much the face of those teams in my mind.
3. Michael Finley - I remember watching him at Wisconsin and then loved when he was drafted by the Suns. Not the flashiest player, but he worked hard and got the job done.
4. Grant Hill, JKidd, Juwan Howard, Jalen Rose, Eddie Jones - I really got into collecting during the 1994-95 season and loved that rookie class. Some great memories busting packs and pulling some of these players.
5. Michael Jordan - I feel like this one is a given for most people, but I'll still add him to my list.

I'm diggin' the LaPhonso Ellis/Bryant Stith love. I enjoyed them, too.

Where is the love for the Big Dog?

Very nice draft class I think, and release of Emotion

Back then, I collected Kidd first and then traded him for Hill. I wasn't into Big Dog BUT... when I returned to the Hobby a few years ago I busted quite a bit of 94/95 and I must say I really gained apprech for his cards.

Particular favs pulled was the Skybox Draft Pick insert and his Premier Prospects SP die-cut (great shot on that one).

Spreeeeewell!

loved his intensity on court and although the incident changed his career forever, his stint with the Knicks was a very nice story! The Angry dunks are just awesome to watch!

just a pity he got cut from so many now-iconic sets during his suspension.

Of course, how could I forget Glenn Robinson. And Emotion is one of my absolute favorite sets of all time. I lived in a small town that had very limited places to buy cards so I would send cash to my brother who was off at college in a much bigger city and have him buy me a few packs and send them back to me. I remember saving up the wrappers to send off and get the Grant Hill SkyMotion promo card. I got rid of mine awhile back, but still good memories.

Penny Hardaway and Jamal Mashburn. I still think Mashburn is the greatest player to never play in an ASG.

2003 All-Star Game: 10 pts, 4 reb, 2 ast, 2/2 3pt in 14 minutes of action.

With his stats though, he should have definitely been an All-Star more than once. Great player...great draft class. Long live the 90's!

Has anyone acquired a beautiful 90's or early 2000's insert to flip, then get home, see how amazing it looks and just hold it? I'm so bad with that lately that the ones I intend to list never get listed! lol

Anyone else with this "problem"?

Nice to see several other members mention the Monster Mash! He was one of my favorites and very underrated. I always wonder how good he would have been if he never hurt his knee.

It's amazing that many of these players at one point or another was part of the original Fleer/SkyBox Autographics sets.

I still remember Mashburn got huge hobby love back in 1994 when I first started collecting. Now he's relegated to semistar or common status if you pulled his cards today despite solid career numbers. This is just another example of how vast majority of folks who's currently paying top dollars for tier 2 rookies like Tyler Herro, Keldon Johnsons, or Cam Reddish's will lose their ass in the coming years. The prices almost never sustain unless the player eventually turns into an sure-fire Hall of Famer. Heck, even look at Bradley Beals Rc prices vs current tier 2 rookies from 2018 to 2021, and Beals done so much more.

I wonder what kind of hype the 90s players would get if they came in to the League now?

For me the 90s (early) were a time of listening to games on radio mostly, so it would be the home team of Mullen, Richmond, Hardaway.
