Anyone know what happened? Got of to a good start tonight but never came back into the game. Only logged 18 minutes.

He had a collision with Aaron Gordon and never came back after that. Didn’t look bad at all but sucks that his first decent performance and he only plays 18 mins.

After signing the extension/new contract or whatever you want to call it this offseason the expectations have went up for him. If he cannot improve his game then I expect those chatters to become roars in Grizz country.

He definitely has to learn to play defense without fouling. I don’t know if they were silly or not, but he had that same problem as a rookie. 11 points in 18 minutes. Ja is ballin!!!!

That's the basic issue; he hasn't gotten any better with fouling.

I was in the car yesterday and they were citing a ton of statistics about the overall team with him on the floor. Every team offensive stat, from our +/- to how he affects the rest of the team's performance, is a huge plus with him on the floor. Ja's assist-to-turnover ratio with him there is double what it is when he's not on the floor. Basically, even with his shooting percentage near the bottom of the league, he makes the team better when he's playing.

Bottom lining it - he has to be on the floor. 5 fouls in 18 minutes is not ok for anyone, let alone a cornerstone guy.

I totally agree. It seems he has lazy hands and feet. He also must learn to stay on the floor and not be pump faked. Another major issue is a player can fall asleep when you have a player like Ja. At 20 games into the season another evaluation is n ended here. I do believe he will get it, but his defensive development is significantly behind his offensive development.

he almost has to be stupidly aggressive on defense--you have no rim check. Adams aint doin chit, he doesnt protect the paint. realize that somebody needs a reckless abandon, not stoned kyle.

The stop at the end was his best play of the game - especially since he easily could have been over aggressive and fouled and put Jokic on the line to tie the game.

Indeed. There are a couple of games this year they would have lost previous years. His over aggressive D can be good, but this game proves he needs to be on the court.

Glad he had a great game tonight! Maybe his stuff will pick up some. I checked sales of some of his rookie cards and I can’t get over how much of them have crashed.

I thought I was getting some deals last year and early this year by getting some Chronicles PSA 10’s for $15-20 dlvd. Some sold this week for $7-9 plus shipping.

I don’t even want to talk about how I bought his Prizm RC PSA 10 at the wrong time last year and how they are going for $20-30 now. Ouch…

His prices have softened like the market, but buying the dip is smart, especially numbered stuff. I am not worried one bit. He is having more good games then bad. JJJ for 3! Boo. For the win!

His rare/high end RC stuff has still been strong. I’ve been chasing some fun second year stuff of him for very cheap.

It has been nice to see him playing more aggressively off the dribble and in the paint lately. He can get an easy 10-15 points per night Giannis style just by hitting a few back down jump hooks that he’s been doing lately. Add that into his shooting range and it makes him much more dynamic and hard to guard.

Last nights game hurt me deep as someone who roots for the Jazz, but at least it was him that hit that shot. Only player I like on that team. Still think he has the most upside of anyone on Memphis. But I’ve been wrong before.
