The King is dead. There was a time not too long ago when nobody would have stepped up to Lebron. Those days are done. Lakers just aren’t very good and it seems like they’re the only ones that don’t realize that. The quicker they put it int cruise control the better, retool and give it one last shot next year.

Do these teams play again this season?

But it didn't appear to actually be his elbow that caught Stewart - his hand is what seems to have made the scratch. Is it therefore still the same justification?

lebron definitely intentionally threw the arm, doubt he was targeting the face but id say he gets at least a game. looked like they were arm wrestling and lebron tried to throw a shot into his arm and came up with face. stewart definitely overreacted though.

It was hard to tell from all angles what exactly landed. If it was indeed his fist/hand then it was just the accidental by-product of the elbow (again, people swing their elbows violently in either frustration/establishing dominance during boxouts in virtually every game...). It's a fairly natural instinct to clench your fist when you're swinging your elbow in any sort of authoritative manner.

Now I'm absolutely certain if roles were switched, Bron would have gone down flailing around like a reeled trout like he'd just been a victim of a c4 explosion.

Different strokes...

I may very well be mistaken, but it looks like his hand catches his mouth. Maybe it was a combination of both.

Not like anyone cares but Chris Paul leading league in assists at 36 by a huge margin.

Basketball can be aggressive and competitive. Boxing out is aggressive. Guys swing their arms. This just happened to connect with someone’s face and draw blood
Alert the press, Jcard is right about something basketball related.

Guys get tangled up in box outs, frequently. One guy trying to break free or shuck off is a normal response. Stewart's head just happened to be low and in line with Lebron's hand. It looked like Stewart was trying to uproot LBJ through the armpit, which is borderline dirty.

The league has a very interesting decision to make because Stewart should be suspended heavily for trying to ignite and escalate the situation. This is how very large problems develop in the NBA. Of course, if Lebron gets less of a suspension than Stewart, people will cry of preferential treatment, but what Stewart did can not be tolerated, imo.

Seriously. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Arguably the worst poster on BO telling arguably the best poster here that his shtick is lame.

Stewart will get more. That precedent has already been set. Don’t think he’ll regret what he did. I’m sure there are plenty of players around the league who think LeBron is a bitch.

Did Russell Westbrook put up his fists? That's hilarious if he did.

LeBron will be happy to know how many free willing attorneys he has willing to offer their services on Blowout.

Queen James has been a dirty player for some time now. Remember last year when he shoved Embiid in mid-air as he went up for a dunk and Joel landed on his back, could have been badly injured.

That wasn't a basketball play, either.

He knows he's not one of the true elite players anymore and he can't handle it.

Lakers help defense to protect LBJ from a rushing Stewart was 1st Team All NBA caliber. That was impressive.

We all know James tried to apologize but what did he say after Stewart confronted him?

Russell Westbrook being cute again.... behaved like a brat and doesn't understand why he got a T.

I feel like the lakers thrive off of this. Dwight Howard is back to #@#@#@#@ disturb. Is this just what they needed. In Detroit. Too coincidental?

Here's another angle that appears to show intent from LeBron:

I'm pretty sure to anyone with 2 eyes there was intent....

to promptly remove Stewart's elbow from his armpit.

Yes, LeBron was annoyed.
But LeBron also looked at him and lashed out. And because it's LeBron he gets a pass?

To add to my above post about Douchebrook:

you guys watch too much in slow-motion whilst looking for a specific angle to prove whatever point it is that you already had in your head.

Stewart pushing him a little too aggressively, Lebron swipes him away, accidentally hits his face instead of arm. every reaction thereafter is based on the blood and slow motion video. I guarantee not a single person thought that much of it as it happened.

I was of the same mind when he stepped over Draymond, Draymond went to brush away whatever was being rubbed on top of his head, and all the morons went with "he deliberately punched him in the balls".

Suspend both of them 1 or 2 games and move on.

Sooo.....a week? A month? What's the fitting suspension here?

A player commits a flagrant 1/2 for hacking/slashing a player down around their shoulders on a fastbreak layup. Said player subsequently suffers a career ending leg break because of the dangerous foul. Have it raised to a season long suspension based on the serious result of that action?

Is this what we're getting at? Because, you know...unfortunate things do happen as the product of actions carried out without those intended results.

Very few are debating that Lebron wasn't trying to deliberately swipe away his arm using force. But I highly, highly doubt he intended to strike him in the face and leave him a bloody pulp.

MPJ is probably done for the season. This is why you always wait til Restricted Free Agency when guys are asking for the max (see: Phoenix with Ayton) unless it's a no-brainer guy like Luka. Now Denver is stuck with an atrocious contract that was unnecessary and undeserved.

I don't care what they say about the Pistons, after all the drama, the deficit, that was a HUGE win for the Lakers!

First win for them in Detroit for 7 YEARS
