Obviously, but this isn't an equivalent scenario. You actually get something tangible here. I know most people on the board do not care about the physical cards, but you do get something for your money rather than just a 1% chance at a $75 "profit."

The Optic base set is a parallel in itself...silver pulsar prizms. It also come with a bonus pack of 5 randomly inserted purple pulsar rated rookies.

The Donruss FB set is all press proof holos. No extra pack of parallels.

The FB Set? All are on premium foil stock. I'd venture to guess the Mac Jones will go for > cost of the set once the first ones hit eBay since his regular base are $30+ right now.

I'll probably keep mine sealed and wait for next year and open them (or sell) since there's pretty much a 0% chance we've seen the market height for all the QBs in the class. Trey Lance and TLaw in particular are good buys - Lance will inevitably be starting for that team at some point given the capital used to acquire him and the Jaguars will (eventually) not be as bad as they are now.

Yeah but the tangible thing you get isn't really worth the price. my analogy accounted for that by saying you will more than likely gend up with something less valuable than what you paid. i bought a set so not completely against it. there's just no excitement with it. it is what it is. There is the excitement of the unknown with a blaster.

Absolutely...especially with the bonus pulsar pack..I think the combination of those plus the rookies and your stars like Lebron Luka etc will get ya $150 easily..just gonna take some work piecing it out

Agreed.
I was more making a generalized statement of why someone would take the blaster vs the set. I don't agree that it's necessarily about resale value. I would prefer 5 blasters over one complete set. I would not have turned around and resold them if I had been able to score some this morning I'm not really interested in the complete set as much as I am in opening things and dreaming about hitting a huge card. I think that's how a lot of people feel. I did buy one of these sets and will tuck it away just because.

Yeah complete sets are definitely more boring, but the kid in me loves the fact of having a complete set just like I used with old baseball card sets. I'm keeping one for myself and will probably rip and sell the other two

Not necessarily

The only cards stocked at Target in store are “low demand” stuff. Normally cellos and sometimes blasters of certain baseball, lower end football, Pokémon, etc

Also the in store stock day doesn’t have anything to do with the online drop date.

Couple of my stores here stocked Optic Basketball blasters. So I think we’re starting to see a comeback of product more and more to stores.

I mean to be fair they are both exclusive sets..its not just a base donruss set for $100 and the Optic set it a pulsar set..still good to hold or break up and sell singles in my opinion
