It's following a pretty standard trajectory of most releases. This Topps release will not heat up again until they're in hand and boxes start getting opened

I wasn't referring to the Topps box. I was referring to the cryptid and nightfall boxes.

Context is key.

CN booster boxes are still selling for at least 6x (up to ~8x) MSRP and the product only released a little more than 3 months ago.

NF booster boxes are selling for 1.5-2x MSRP and the product just released. Technically, the ceiling should be lower than CN because it's the second set of the series and has 2x print-run of CN. With that said, there's still some pretty awesome aspects of the NF series and booster box (glow in the dark, unique attributes in holographic parts, secret rare [Old Scratch] is harder to pull than Red Ink from CN, etc). Many people started getting product in-hand (or will soon) so prices will come down until it reaches a floor price but when has this not happened? From my experience, this happens with every release.

The TCG is still risky and entry price-point is critical. But for the short-term, it's performed exceptionally well. And it's still in the state of infancy, you must focus on long-term potential of the brand.

These are great points and it all makes sense but for someone like myself who invests in sealed product of sports and non-sports i have not seen a product go up after supply dwindles only to come back down later like CN booster boxes and original KS boxes have done in the last couple weeks.

Think that it will be a successful pump and dump?

Think a community of people playing the game will organically develop and sustain itself?

I like how the cards look. I hope it's not a pump and dump. Hopefully someone plays the game. I don't know anything about investing in sealed product. I guess I am a full believer in the product being cool and a welcome TCG to the market.

I like how the cards look and I hope the TCG succeeds. I couldnt justify holding on to the 3 boxes that I had. I made a good profit and was out. It an interesting concept for sure but there is so much more stuff I want to collect including vintage pokemon. I am not much of a speculator either. In the end I should have waited until they hit 1000 but I wasnt going to take the risk. How many new TCGs see this kind of hype?

Not many tcgs have this kind of support and financial backing from the get go. I missed out early but to me it’s still early enough to get involved. Love the art, and game mechanics, very creative. Now just have to find some cards and wax lol.

The developing counterfeit story is certainly interesting. Such a he said she said argument at the moment. If it's true it's going to be interesting to see what effect that has on the market. Supposedly people are already dumping a lot of raw KS and it's enough of a worry for me at least to not buy any high dollar raw KS or 1st Edition CN till it's settled.

I did buy a half dozen of the damaged CN 1st Ed when they dropped the price to $499 on BO. I figured that was a safe investment assuming the packs inside are ok, I mean the box toppers alone go for $200 and the packs are $20-30 each as well x36 so do the math. I should think they only go up in the future if the game keeps up some momentum.

I know there’s been all sorts of talk about the Nightfall spellbooks not having any full holos, being cursed, etc…and I watched a handful of subpar breaks myself.

Probably just beginners luck, but pulled three full holos out of my first one:

GRIM REAPER
WENDIGO
RIVER OF TIME

all gold rares. Pretty sweet, to go along with the 7 reverses and the promo card. Prices are down to around 55 shipped on eBay now. Have 3 more on the way, I’m sure I won’t do this well on those haha, but love these cards!

Haven't been following the discord for a minute so I dont know if I've missed this but I just got in a nightfall box I purchased on ebay. The box does not glow in the dark? Is there actually counterfeits going around or am I not doing this right?!
Hoping someone here knows the specifics of it, thanks.

I haven't heard of counterfeit boxes, but there was that stuff about a week ago about another printer in China claiming to have all the print files for KS cards, which wouldn't shock me if true. Especially with action figures, the molds wind up in other factories or even the same factories might make counterfeits. Happens all the time.

Did you get a booster box, spell book, event release box, etc?

I think the booster box is the only one that glows in the dark, that's my understanding anyway.

I got a booster box. Does it matter if it is still sealed? It strangely did not glow in anyway in the dark last night. Will have to try again later today when I'm back home.

The other day, I looked at the two boxes I ripped and they glowed in the dark.

It's only a fairly faint glow isn't it? I think I just noticed it at a few spots on the box and not like the whole box was glowing in the dark. I need to check again.

Here's the secret:

Bring your box to a floor lamp and place whatever side(s) of the box that has glow in the dark functionalities, set the side(s) directly in front of the light for 5-10 seconds, then bring your box to a dark room.

You'll see it glow in the dark nicely.

Decided to rip one of the “damaged” booster boxes from BO that I got on sale just to say I opened a box of CN. 25 FH one being Mothman I’d say was a pretty amazing box. All the boxes were actually in pretty decent condition too. I’ll probably see what effect Logan Paul has on the market before selling the box toppers and packs as the market has seen a pretty significant dip of late. Still a lot in this TCG I have concerns about from pumping to counterfeit theories to just a lot of toxicity but I guess that is every hobby these days. Going to be interesting to see how 2nd Edition performs as it drops soon. I personally think it will hover around MSRP after an initial craziness.

Didn't have to rip the box either.

The moon glows and a part of the mothman.
A great measure for potential counterfeit as well.

They just announced they will be going into Walmart in early 2022. I personally think that's a bad idea I hope they keep the first edition in local shops for every new release otherwise this could get flooded before it really takes off.

Eh, pretty sure Boosters and certain other sku’s will still be done through hobby shops, and then with other products being more “retail”.

I’m looking at it as good exposure for the brand, overall.

Anyone get a shipping notification from Topps for the Series 0 pre-sale boxes? If they are trying to meet the 30 business day estimate of the pre-sale it should be any day now.
