Would seem like it. With how much that list of stuff is worth these days...sheesh.

You have to be alert in an industry like this. 100% vigilant at all times. You have literally hundreds of thousands of dollars in a small location; easy smash and grab. Feel bad for the victims here and I hope they get their stuff back or the perps get busted. Definitely lessons to be learned, though.

Card shops are essentially jewelry stores these days. I’m not speaking to this shop but I bet many don’t have proper security.

This is where the serial numbers would be helpful to log. Terrible news but they knew exactly what they were coming for. Probably a customer?

Ah yea possibly. I mean, it's going to take forever for these people to sell this stuff. I'd imagine they get caught fairly quickly if they try to cash in

They’ll most likely open the boxes and sell the singles guys.

They were the only card shop I have ever been to in the US, and the old guy behind a computer tried to offer me just $400 for a 1/1 Wilt Chamberlain Flawless patch...........

I am glad he's ok/not badly hurt though, and hope they catch the criminals. Clearly knew what they were doing and while that store was a bit of a ripoff to me, having actual card shops is so important (there are none here at all, haven't been for years) so I hope this doesn't lead to closure.

They probably have the best inventory for a local shop in the entire united states.

Tragic, but at least he escaped with his life.

Most major fine watch/jewelry dealers in the LA area have around the clock armed security at the door. Honestly surprised (judging by the list of what was taken) that this was not the case here.

Man that is sad. The things that people are willing to do for money is just appalling to me. Get a job. Work 50 hours a week. Find a legal side hustle or two. Do that and you'll have a comfortable life.

Glad the shop owner is ok. The merchandise worthless sealed. I would guess they open and look to sell singles.

If nothing else this demonstrates that high end wax is now seen as on the level of jewelry. Glad no one was hurt and hope they had insurance.

Was only a matter of time. I'm honestly surprised this doesn't happen more often, especially at the big shows.
