The recent on-card redemptions are making it more and more likely that a large portion of the sticker auto's aren't done by Luka and possibly some of the other rookie on-card as well.

I know a star hockey player signed 8000 sticker auto's for his rookie contract with UD and they are still using those stickers 4+ years later on their products. That's a lot of autographs to sign!

Can't imagine how many Luka had to sign and the notion that he went "slow and neat to fit in the sticker" is one of the more ludicrous things I've read in defence of the auto's. @theluckyshow

With that said we don't have any definitive proof either way and if people want to believe the neat LuLu's are real by all means they can do so. I'd bet the value of those are going to continue to diminish relative to the sloppy slanted auto's over time.

Optic Holo Auto BGS 9/10 just sold for $7,100 which I believe was a new high for a BGS/PSA 9 in that card. Maybe they will diminish in the future (I doubt it), but they haven't started to diminish.

Still far too early. Wait for 5 more years of on card sloppy autos and those LuLu's are going to really stand out.

I'm confused... how will "the value of those [loopy lulus] continue to diminish" if it's "still far too early"?

I shouldn't have included the word "continue" clearly as I didn't look at any recent comps

I'm pretty sure you aren't confused and know what I am saying.

Yes. But I also disagree with the premise of what you're saying because there's no data to support it.

I expanded on my original post to explain I'm talking about years down the road from now as more on-card autos come out. I don't see how you can be confused about that.

It's clearly speculation.

I wasn't confused. Your initial statement had more of an absolute vibe than a speculative vibe. I provided a data point that shows your point that the loopy lulu autos are currently diminishing is incorrect. That's all.

And to be transparent, I have loopy autos (Optic Holo, Fresh Paint) and less loopy autos (Ascent, Revolution). I stay away from sticker autos because I really don't like sticker autos in general and I also think stickers will be the ones that lose value the quickest - not because of how the auto looks but just for being a sticker.

This was my original quote

"I'd bet the value of those are going to continue to diminish relative to the sloppy slanted auto's over time."

I don't see how that has an "absolute vibe" when I clearly say I am betting and I mention that I am talking over time. i.e the future. I didn't have to include the word "continue" but I wasn't using it to imply that it is already happening although you took it that way.

In any case it will be interesting to see what happens.

The absolute stuff was more this stuff:

The "I'd bet... continue to diminish" part just kinda showed you hadn't looked at recent comps.

This whole ordeal is a much bigger deal on BO than in the real market. Even on Facebook when a loopy lulu auto is posted for sale, people will make a comment "LOL who'd want Luka's mom's sig" but that card will still sell super quickly at typical Luka auto values.

If the loopy lulu autos ever tank, Panini will have to step in - especially considering the loopy lulu is on the Luka NT RPA.

This thread and the BO community represent a small portion of the card collecting community. Okay maybe not a small portion but definitely not the majority. There are millions of collectors that don't even know this thread exists. Unless there is hard proof or an admission by Luka or Panini(which will never happen) that he did indeed NOT sign some of his autos, then I don't see prices diminishing on these autos anytime soon. Or in the next 5-10 years. Especially if Luka is a perennial player like I believe him to be.

Yes I know it was painted on the court and not actually signed by Luka, but why wouldn’t they use the LuLu version?

Lol why would they use the lulu version?

They’re gonna use the signature from whatever source Luka auto they have.

Thanks for your input Jerry!

You're right I don't... The ones I like are waaay out of my price range.

Rather just buy nice Kobe auto's instead for much cheaper.

this will have been signed front of panini staff,

I agree. This is another piece of evidence that tells me Lulus are authentic.

The biggest thing is that Panini and the authenticators had just been through this in 2017 with Dak Prescott. When Luka was returning his autos they were certainly right in the thick of the Dak issue.

1. Why would Panini take the risk of getting sued?

2. Why are there no issues with the authenticators like with Dak?

Lulu may have been one of his, but this recent Lulu is not the old Lulu. And he starting look like that guy from the British version of The Office.

Yeah, but this "Lulu" looks nothing like the "Lulu" on some of the 2018 Prizm stickers.
