Default Anyone going to the Toronto Sports Card Expo in November?

Thought I would post this here since the show is 80% hockey from what everyone says.

https://sportcardexpo.com/

For those who are attending, what will you be looking for?

Ill go if restrictions are back in place. I have this eery feeling when Nov rolls around it may not be the same as right now.

There was a GTA show this weekend in Aurora. Saw a lot more basketball and soccer than usual. Im going bet that Nov expo will have more other sports than hockey this time around. It will only change once the old timer carry the same stuff every year stop getting tables.

I will be attending if things hold up until November.

I'll be looking to add to my extensive Jhonas Enroth collection, but I doubt I will find anything I don't already have though. Aside from that, anything that catches my eye is on the table for sure. Maybe I'll add to my vintage goalie PC.

I don't know if you have been paying attention to the news but you will need a vaccine passport to attend a show. I suspect unless the hospitals are full then all things will be the same as they are now.

As for me I won't attend any indoor gatherings as long as I have to wear a mask as I can't stand them but understand the medical need for them.

The passport is not an issue. Wave 4 and new restrictions will be the concern. For all we know, November we could be back in lockdown.

As for masks, you have to still wear masks indoors when you grocery shop and go to the pharmacy. Im assuming you dont do either?? Masks dont bother me. Its like wearing socks and shoes.

No I have to do that, but "pleasure" things with a mask are similar to visiting a proctologist IMO.

The organizers will have to follow whatever Ontario provincial guidelines are in place at the time. Besides masks and vaccine passports, attendance limits may also be in place.
They confirmed that there is currently a maximum of 1,000 attendees not including staff and vendors but that number may be increased by the time of the Expo.

So because you don't have an issue with them then everyone shouldn't? What a moronic statement.

Would like to go to Toronto Show, been there several times many years ago and it was great to go get the autos and see and get the HOF signers. But will stay put this year. Will be going to the Western Canada Show that is being held the weekend after, since I live in Vancouver, but it is not the same.

Way to completely miss the point but by seeing your comment it isn't surprising you did.

There's no way that can possibly be enforced and it could get ugly if they try. Since this is the first major show in Canada in some time, I expect the crowds to be huge.

some people crave tyranny.

I always wanted to go to that show. I never see much hockey at shows here in the US. But not worth the trip this year with all the covid theater going on. Maybe next year.

And why is that? Are card shows somehow exempt from Provincial PHOs?
What does "it could get ugly if they try" even mean anyway?
If the organizers (who no doubt already know all the guidelines) can't ensure a safe event for all then they have no business even trying to put it on in the first place.

Did you look at the election lines to vote? It could be like that to get in the hall to spend your money and do hallway trades.

If the show has decent security you will have proper crowd control, if they hire Barney Fife types then you won't and you may have a rules are rules type calling the police for gathering violations.
