Bought this lot on Mercari last week for $20, Webb is a stud. I’m a Red Sox fan but the giants have been my NL team since I was a little kid. Here’s hoping they hold the division and send LA home in October, viva los gigantes!!

Magic # for the West title is 5. Half of games remaining are against the Dbacks who are in a “race” for the #1 pick. Other half against the Friars.

Dodgers have 3 against the Friars and 3 against the Brewers who are locked in at the #2 seed in the NL.

"That seems to be something that gets overlooked in this new game, but I think it's really important for a guy who hits 15 homers, which is plenty ... but to drive in 85, that tells me this guy has a knack for driving guys in when they're on base."

"I love him as a player," Burrell said. "I mean, he's got a plus-plus arm and like you said, he can run. He does chase. But he doesn't strikeout and he doesn't walk as well."

"It's a rare combination. It's kind of like Pablo [Sandoval] where they can cover everything," Burrell said. "We'd like to tighten that up, but it's a tough thing to tell a guy where everything that comes out of the pitcher's hand he can actually hit.

"It's a challenge that you just don't see much. The bat speed's there. I love his swing, I love the speed he creates and he's only gonna get better."

Indeed.

I had that sinking feeling after they lost today.

I think they need to win the division and hope the Cards knock out the Dodgers.

If the Dodgers avoid the WC they might be close to unstoppable.

I've had 20-1 hurdlers crash at the last fence when leading by 15 lengths and the Giants are giving me that vibe.

I mean, if a 106-win team can't win 2 of 3 at home against a demoralized sub-.500 team to clinch the division, they deserve to play 163.
