Kind of underwhelming but legendary card for basically being the best pitcher in the game all year long a couple of years ago. I would rather have had 99 Hank here but I like it. Would think Aaron is coming soon

99 Mantle and 99 Frank stand out as 2 of the best TA4 guys. Frank will have 125/125 125/125 at P5. I like a lefty for 1B but that will be really hard to keep out of the lineup

99 Nate Pearson is a big W as a headliner too. Made me max on packs and actually got a diamond. Was thinking boom, but ended up being LS Verlander lol. Going to need that Pearson though

+1 on Hoffman. Circle change instead of regular makes a big difference

I've completed the collection and exchanges for all divisions, so have 1 pack to open from each. Also selling off all my extras and investments. Up to 2.7 million stubs

If anyone was wanting previous headliners, they have tanked. Everything else in the market is on fire

Trevor Hoffman was my first pick from the NL West. Tried him in a couple of CPU games for missions and the super-slow Circle Change drops off the face of the Earth. Going to be a fun card to use unless it becomes meta and people see too much of it

overall I love the content drop today. bummed we didn't get 30 future star henchmen, but that is asking for a lot and I would have been super overwhelmed not knowing who to play with so many choices lol

Kershaw program is a massive L IMO. they are really taking the fun out of those big collections. they have the rights to so many great legends and we get mookie and kershaw? even 99 trout like last year would have been better.

but all in all I am having a blast going through the TA 4 programs!

Think I agree for the most part about Kershaw, though I do think it's one of the better SP cards in the game, probably excluding the no-hitter cards and deGrom. I went back and checked the ratings for '19 and '20 vs this version. This version is near an exact carbon on '19.

I was so close to having all I needed for the collection with 3m+ excess stubs, I went ahead and did everything for the Kershaw. No clue how it will play online but offline, it feels better than expected.

All that said, it no doubt shows a lack of imagination on SDS's part. They could have at least given him the no-hitter treatment...

So I haven't been playing as much as last year, but still keeping up. I didn't realize how much live series big cards dropped lol. Pulled 2 degroms from 2 consecutive headliner packs and they both sold for 45k. Very happy still, but 3 weeks ago I would have been rolling in stubs haha

Hard to even think he peaked at 250k haha. Still, awesome pulls there. I opened 50+ biah packs over the weekend and pulled one solitary diamond. LS Vlad. All of them were free, so no worries

Also, I've had terrible luck with headliner packs this year (free ones and paid ones). Have probably ripped 50 of those as well, and I think the only HL I've landed from those was the very early ~90 Josh Donaldson. I could be forgetting other pulls though, as all the rips pretty much blend together after a while

I do remember I pulled 95 HL Carlos Santana from a basic pack while he was still 100K+. Was super excited for that, since he was the best catcher in the game at that time. Oh how times have changed... lol

Also must note that I've had some great luck on all star packs. 2 of the 3 that I've opened were rare tier

Also... I now have over 4m stubs from flipping and investments since the TA4 stuff dropped, so screw pack luck... I will just probably just buy whatever looks interesting from here on out

Giving 99 Minnie Minoso a job in LF as an example. Sneaky great card so far tbh. Well above avg speed, great contact even judged against most of TA4 + elite vision (the part that makes him sneaky great imo). Very tough to strike out. have him batting 2nd behind Honus. Just wish he were a lefty

3,000 strikeout milestone 99 Scherzer program dropping today. Should be a fun card to throw around with, but can't help but guessing it won't have the elite /9 ratings like perfect game, no hitter, and many topps now cards

A lot of those elite /9 cards are a ton of fun to use, but I feel like SDS has kind of busted SP this year with all that

Also feel like it's a big L that just about all sig series SPs are low tier this year. 98 Madbum, 97 Strasburg, 96 Jim Palmer, 96 Greinke, 96 Wainwright, and of course 99 Pedro all feel like they should be elite (or at least very good) online still but they really aren't in the same league as 99 Verlander, deGrom, Nolan and all the rest like that

I was sitting at about 500k stubs yesterday. Since I did not do mookie and I am not doing mookie+kershaw I decided to clear every non-live series card out of my binder. Ended up making about 700k stubs from stuff I just had stashed. If they add another big card to that collection I might regret it, but the only card I absolutely NEEDED this year was 99 Clemente, so even if they drop 99 hank or mays as a collection I will be at peace lol.

I figure I will use those stubs to get some cards I've enjoyed using in the past that are expensive this year like 99 Donaldson and 99 Verlander.

Sounds like a good plan really. FWIW, I haven't used 99 Donaldson and probably wont, but I think Verlander is objectively worth the the high stub cost even if just pricing for value and not fun (though he's a lot of fun to use for me).

Best SP in the game to me at this point by quite a ways. Full disclosure, I have only pitched him online in 4 games but he has a 1.50 ERA, 0.58 WHIP, and most ridiculously 19.5 K/9 lol. I'm sure those numbers will rise if I end up trying to make a RS push...

Will be shocked if he's not in my end game lineup unless I just get sick of using him. Also would expect his price to stay high unless they start giving out easy WS rewind rewards like they have with BR

just thinking about extreme conquest and showdown sends shivers down my spine. I don't think I have the heart for the grind this year. Especially since there are so many amazing cards. LIke I have trouble playing ranked because idk who to use lol

Some pretty nice content released late this week.

United States of Baseball event: Think this event came around later in the year last year but I remember it being one of the more fun events of the season. Rewards are great and I think players may have a long time to build wins (3 part event, so 3 weeks?).

-(25 wins) Silver Slugger Todd Helton should be one of the best 1B in the game. Unfortunate he doesn't have a secondary because I'm thinking MVP Frank Thomas is locked in my lineup.

-(20 wins) 2019 Finest Flashback Javy Baez was in my end game lineup a couple of years ago. Hitting stats in general have crept up since then but think he will still be a beast vs LHP.

-Event rewind packs rewarded at 40 and 50 wins. A couple of choices (Prime Jake McGee and HRD Cespedes) are still selling for 150k-250k at the time of writing this.

-99 20K Kerry Wood. Awesome SP for a headliner (at least on paper). Could probably use a secondary FB but I love a slurve with a big break, and it looks like this card will have better control than most Kerry Wood cards I remember. I went ahead and bought the card at market price instead of wasting stubs on HL packs for once.

-98 Jazz Chisholm. One of the best 2B in the game as far as hitting stats. Currently selling for near 30k but very easy to acquire through weekly Topps Now moments
-98 Garrett Hampson. Excellent hitting stats and 97 speed + OF, SS, 2B eligibility.
