Crazy you mention that. I remember about a year I pitched it to the group whether they would rather have an NT RPA 3 color PSA/BGS 9 or a gold prizm 9.5 and the consensus was the NT RPA (they were right about the same value at the time). I really didn't know the answer, but now I'm very glad I didn't make that swap. Would still love to add an NT at some point and your 9 is nice. You made a great investment on that 8. Great job. I love that cards allow you to "trade up" if you make wise/lucky moves.

PSA 9 cracked ice rookie ticket went for 52.6K on eBay - is that an accurate price?

I would have thought it would have gone for way more!

It is the horizontal variant (#343) and hence the low price. Vertical Contenders (#303) cracked ice PSA 9 is easily a 100K plus card.

Just comparing print run and the price difference between the most desirable Lebron's Auto vs Non-Auto RC, the TC Gold vs Exquisite RPA. Lebron TC Gold print run is 50 and exquisite RPA print run is /99 and /23. That is 50 Golds vs 122 RPA's. Mahomes has a total of 50 Rookie Gold Prizms (XRC/10, Prizm/10, Select/10, Select Field/10, Optic/10). Mahomes has NT RPA /99, Holo Silver #/25, Jersey #/15, Stars and Stripes #/13, Holo Gold #/10, Black #/5, Red #/2, Red Brand Logo #/2, Red Laundry Tag #/2, Platinum NFL Shield 1/1, Printing Plates 1/1. Since Prizm is the most desirable, we are looking at 15 Golds (if you add in the 5 gold vinyls) vs ~175 RPA's

Currently, Lebron exquisite RPA/99 will fetch more than the TC Gold/50 in similar grade. If you factor in the print run difference, a Mahomes NT RPA/99 will not outsell the Prizm Gold/10 in similar grade especially if it has a less desirable patch (1 or 2 CLR). A NT RPA/99 BGS 9.5 with a nice 3-CLR patch might fetch more than a Prizm Gold/10 BGS 9.5 in an auction imo.

I saw that one a few days ago and thought,what a lovely patch

@JoshAllen3000....I was discussing with a friend, what the final price could be on the cracked ice...he's more in tune with this type of stuff than me and suggested around the 50 grand mark,so i guess it landed close.
A psa 9 "base" did 29 grand recently,so the 52 seems about right.

In regards to these subset variations.
The purists might sh1t on them,but the old addage of not being able to afford the Bentley and getting the Mercedes instead will be more prevalent as time goes by and these things dry up.
Bottom line is that are simply not enough to go around and demand will eventually outweigh the supply.
Pats hot and will get hotter.

Today was a good day to pickup a Patty. Should have a nice one in hand by end of week. No matter how hard I try, I don’t think it’s possible for me to not always have an eye out for Patty’s.

New to the Mahomes game but I was able to grab these 3 recently off of here for my son as he is starting a PC of Patty himself. He has a NT gold auto /10 redemption he is currently waiting on from Panini that I will get slabbed for him when it arrives. I’d say for a 9 year old he’s off to a good start

I haven't come close to that but PCPTrade actually helped me with another Mahomes sale. I have third party insurance covering it all regardless, but USPS Certified/Registered mail for anything up to 25K. There's a ledger that must be signed at each location to make sure it's manually tracked from location to location.

I use registered as well - they actually insure up to 50k. It's not just signed for, it's under lock and key at every step of the way.
