Hopefully this leads to Cash finally getting canned and they can hire some talented people from TB's front office who actually know how to put a good roster together
You keep bringing up Tampa Bays front office but they are not going to let the Yankees even talk to their personnel. Face it they are going to have to go outside of the organization to get different personnel who that might be I have no idea but Boone and Cashman and Thames need to be gone. First time since 1908 they have suffered a 4 game sweep without ever having the lead. 6th loss in a row yay team.

Yes it does that was a great year even though they didn’t win anything because it was so unexpected.

I don't think there are any "rules" that prohibit anyone in the front-office from talking to another team. Even if there are, there's always ways to back-channel and go around it. One can only hope b/c the folks in TB sure know what they're doing with only a $70MM payroll. Can you imagine what they would be able to do with the Yankees' resources?

They also need to fire Randy Levine, that guy adds absolutely nothing.

Yes it would be wonderful but Hal would manage to screw it up as he really doesn’t care about whether they win or not he only cares about putting money in his coffer. Once the fans stop going like they did when CBS owned the Yankees we will not see any big time changes.

He was trying really hard to find ways to say the Yankees suck right now without actually saying the Yankees suck...it was actually kind of funny.

On his ESPN radio show he's able to blast them more. Its kind of hard for him to completely put them on blast on the YES network as the voice of the Yankees

Not for nothing and you can’t say it would’ve played out the same way but if Heaney pitched a scoreless 9th those home runs by Sanchez and Voit would’ve tied the game.

News flash. Gallo sucks or haven't you been watching any games.

And Judge is a fan favorite and destined to be the next Captain.

They have now grounded into 130 double plays which ties them for first with Washington.

Taillon now on the DL with a partial tear of a tendon in his right ankle. Changing strength coaches for the pitchers has really worked out.

Why can't we get so lucky and have Heaney get injured.

I would say the only members of this team that go out and consistently do their job every start is Judge and Cole. Every other player right now is trash.

I've gotten into it with some folks around here about Gallo's uselessness. But "WAR!!", "Strikeouts don't matter!", etc.

He only needs 18 more strikeouts to break his career total in a year.

I guess the only positive thing you can say about him is that he has exceeded his single season career walk record by a large margin.

I can't handle much more of this. They are still on pace to win 90 games but it's so evident that they are lost as an organization.

I was watching the game with some friends and made a joke in the 8th about putting Heaney in for the 9th and then the broadcast immediately cut to him in the bullpen. I turned the game off after that what do ya know, he gave up crucial runs. He now has a 7.71 ERA with Yankees.

Andrew Heaney now has the 6th worst ERA through 9 games (min. 5 starts) with the New York Yankees in history.

1. Brian Boehringer (12.18)
2. Randy Keisler (8.33)
3. Esteban Loaiza (8.19)
4. Ramiro Mendoza (8.05)
5. Hideki Irabu (7.98)
6. Andrew Heaney (7.71)

Anyone above Jeff Weaver (6.08 in 2002), and Kei Igawa (7.14 in 2007) should not be in the major leagues. Somehow Heaney is worse than that!

They were on a pace to win 90 games as currently situated they will be lucky to get to 85 and 7-15 is pushing it.

George used to refer to Hideki as the "fat toad."

It would be nice if they could reach out to some good, retired veterans like CC Sabathia or Andy Pettitte and offer them the pitching coach job. I mean Matt Blake never pitched a MLB game in his life.

In my opinion, they haven't had a good pitching coach since Mel Stottlemyre.

I think Blake has done an incredible job. Pitching carried this team for most of the year.

Blake is an analytics guy. When he was hired, he was also highly touted as someone who worked with strength and conditioning companies and could keep Yankee pitchers from heading to the DL as much as they did in the 2018/2019 season. He has failed miserably in that aspect.

Quote:
On Thursday, Blake hinted to reporters that his work with Cressey Sports Performance — an elite training company used by players like Noah Syndergaard and Corey Kluber — was just as important to the Yankees, who went through a record number of injuries this season.

“I think my background and time with Eric Cressey and Cressey Performance learning about the body and how to integrate, strength and conditioning and rehab,” Blake said about what was discussed in his interview with Yankees manager Aaron Boone and GM Brian Cashman.

Blake’s background emphasizes keeping pitchers healthy.
