Overvalued?

Any QB that cannot make the playoffs in '21, '22, '23, etc.

Why waste your time. The coach/defense/talent around you matters. How many of these guys are Andrew Luck types who carry absolute dog sh--? Few and far between. it's that simple.

multiple QB's have played into their 40s and at a high level... not just Tom Brady...

it's not like Tom Brady is an outlier when it comes to playing the Quarterback position through the age of 40...
Name me all these QB's who've played into their 40's at a high level. Go ahead.

Brees was hurt both his years in his 40's, never finishing a sesaon

Favre had a good season at age 40, and sucked beyond belief at 41 and retired

Manning never made it to 40

Marino/Elway never made it to 40

Roethlisberger is 39, and barely holding on with his body

Rivers retired at 39

Warren Moon wasn't anything special in his 40's

It is extremely rare to continue playing QB at a high level actually into your 40's.

Also, Rodgers is head and shoulders above Wilson right now. Heck Rodgers is a top 25 all time player regardless of position, Wilson isn't even sniffing the top 100.

It would take Wilson literally playing like God for the next 8 seasons winning 2 MVP's, another Super Bowl to even be in top 10 QB all time discussion.

Yes Tom is an outlier.

15 might be tuff.... but playing until at least 43 seems very realistic though for the reasons I have mentioned previously about his work ethic, dietary, mentality, etc...

so lets call it 10-13 more years for RW3... That's a lot of time to accumulate more rings baby..

Cheers + Go Hawks!

I wouldn’t give him 10 more years.

Definitely not 10 more years in Seattle.

7-8 years max.

He’s been disgruntled for years in Seattle and takes a beating every year.

1965 Topps Joe Namath definitely overvalued. QB who said "we're gonna win the game" and then won a Super Bowl, big deal. McMahon helped put together an ensemble rap video predicting a win. There's no QB who wouldn't publicly say they'll win. Namath led the league in interceptions 4 times and has a career record of 62-63-4. He's basically 1960s Eli Manning without the durability and weaker career numbers.

Discuss!

Maybe if Wilson sports some pantyhose and a Joan Rivers fur coat, we may see the GOAT prophecy come to fruition.

Hey..I'll go to bat for Wilson....

Give him 8 good years with 2 Super Bowls and 2 MVPs and he'll be top 5.

Granted, I could probably give you a list of guys in the NFL right now who that would also be true for if it happens... so...yea.

Probably been mention thousands of times but Wilson should've had 2 rings already( Brady one less). Carrol's decision to throw on the 1 yard line with beast mode was insane. The biggest brain explosion of all time. I look at russell and see two rings with a chance to add.

P.S. The Seahawks ate my heart in the NL Championship game that season(2014). The Pack would've beaten New England in the SB 2 weeks later. I'm sure of it. Gut wrenching.

Dude... you either win or you don't...

By that logic, Jim Kelly should have 1.

Matt Ryan should have 1.

Wilson threw the int to lose the game. He's the QB... he always could have audibled that play, or thrown the ball 20 rows deep if he knew the route wasn't going to be there.

Might as well make it ten for Brady...those two circus catches and Billy Cheaty benching Malcom robbed him.

So he is winning two more Super Bowls and two MVPs?

Well he does have 0 MVP votes in his life. Maybe they're all going to come at once.

Reread what I posted. More slowly this time.

*If* we wins two more Super Bowls and two more MVPs that would put him in the top 5.

Also take note of the fact that I pointed out there are a number of QBs I could say the same thing about.

What you may find that I am getting at is that he has a long way to go before he's top 5. It's possible, and you could say the same thing for a lot of other guys, but he'd have to really up his trajectory here the next 8 years.

Actually...........

It makes Drew Bledsoe a 2-time Super Bowl winner ('96, '01) with Brady getting his 10. Then Tony "don't call me Jacob" Eason wins the '85 trophy. Fast forward to 2016 and Alabama (who confuses his dad with the Super Bowl hero of 1985) wins out over Georgia in the Jacob Eason Sweepstakes, who wins 3 Bowl games and gets drafted 1st overall by the Bengals in 2020 after he forgoes his senior year.

Burrow goes to Miami at 5, Tua to Miami at 6, Herbert to Green Bay at 26 after trading up, and Love goes to Indy in the 4th round. As a rookie Eason out-duels Burrow for the ROY, gets MVP, and Super Bowl MVP.

So yeah, I'm thinking Eason's 2020 Prizm Snakeskin is probably overvalued at this point.

Brady has made every other QB in history worthy of liquidating at any point

Yea.. Let's have a laugh at all those bums that invested in Mahomes in 2017 or stocked up on high grade Montana Rookie 2 years ago!

As I said OP must've not studied their price difference, Mahomes cards are over 10x more expensive than Wilson cards right now comparing their key RC. Mahomes is so much more of a gamble at his current prices with a much more downside than Wilson is at his current prices lol. Russell Wilson is actually priced pretty fairly now based on what he's done so far in his career with still some years left. While Mahomes already priced like he has 4 or 5 rings already and only need 2 more to catch Brady lol. He has alot to live up to to maintain just his current prices (like Luka Doncic in basketball)

Agree heavily here
