so how long before we get a true "Friday night wars" scenario

imo there will never be another monday night wars for a plethora of reasons

A, product isnt as popular as it once was

B, AEW does not run a show on mondays

C, monday night raw has honestly been WWE's B program ever since they decided to take Smackdown live on network tv

I think she has star written all over her and will champ by mid-late 2022. Her promos are so much better with Mark Sterling.

Idea she is 11-0 and her last 5 matches were all under 2 minutes says a lot about how they are pushing her.

Main Event starts at 10:54? Another squash?

This is absolutely supposed to be a squash. He was blindly attached on Wednesday. He's there to punish the guy.

Are we really complaining about squash matches on a 1 hour show that featured the debut of CM Punk right now?

That first 20 minutes of AEW was way better than the 2 hours of SmackDown I suffered through... almost felt like WWE knew everyone was only watching as a "pre-game" if some were watching at all

I'll be watching next Wednesday for sure

Believe it or not some of us still like good in ring matches. The last two TV events have not had much to be honest. Like I said AEW don’t have to deliver a knockout every week, but I hope this isn’t a trend.

But again with you there is no criticism of AEW allowed. You are the opposite of Jericho.

I’m not really sure where you’re getting this from. Dynamite had three very good matches with Darby/Sting-2.0, Bucks-Jurassic Express, and MJF-Jericho.

I was glad they gave Punk as much time as needed last night. That was such a special moment. I was afraid he was just going to appear in a run in during the main event.

The CM Punk intro was handled perfectly and the roof came off the United Center.

Jurassic Express/Private Party was a really fun match but both teams usually deliver.

Jade/Hogan was well a match I guess. Jade doesn't do much for me right now and I'm not sure what they're doing with Kiera. She's wrestled 3 top stars so no chance for a win yet.

Mox/Garcia was good for the time they had. Thankfully it wasn't a squash but it reminded me of the Fuego/Miro match. Just one dimensional offense by Garcia, would have liked to see more than just working on the leg but at least it made sense.

With Punk's debut you were not going to get huge matches to be overshadowed by Punk. Overall very fun show.

All I’m saying is we were given one of the biggest debuts/pops in years. They had about 30 minutes to squeeze in 3 matches after that. Was anyone really expecting anything other than at least 1 squash match at that point? They could’ve finished the show with nothing but midget wrestling and the show would have still been considered a success.

I don’t mind criticism of the product if it makes sense. But I will call people out for what I think is undeserved criticism.

Not complaining per say, just thought it was an odd choice.

Hogan has more name recognition and is miles better than Red Velvet, yet Velvet held her own and got plenty offense in in their 2 matches.

Unless they really just needed to cut time and didnt wanna take more away from Mox.

The tag match was ok, but the other matches weren't much of anything.

I'm not a fan of Jade and Im guessing they're having her win quick because she's still not too good in the ring.

The main event was not good at all, but then again Moxley has been exposed as not being very good and needing guys to help carry him.

Punk returning was fine, getting very blown out of proportion by some in other places. Hopefully he's there to help the other talent get over, but we'll see. An unneeded jab at WWE but thats become expected from their ex wrestlers. If Bryan goes there I dont think he'll bad mouth them though.

Punk now, Danielson in a month. Crossing my fingers for the Cult of Windham in two months.

This is a great time in wrestling. If WWE ain't taking them seriously, they better start.

EDIT: Also, you really can't script it any better. Bray's no-compete ends 10/29. Fate, man, it's fate.

Don't understand love affair people have with Bray Wyatt. Had little moves in the ring and his promo's became the same. While not a fan of CM Punk he at least 7 years ago could put on good matches and Daniel Bryan also another good guy inside the ring. Those two at least will be entertaining to watch in the ring. Bray Wyatt AEW has better talent then him he's perhaps the most overrated wrestler around.
