Nuts. Agree with other posters - Topps is ripe for acquisition by StockX. Topps investors are going to see a payday w/ a 15X company buying them out of a market they no longer control. Or, at least I hope that's the case so the brand can continue.

They're going to print to the moon. There's obviously a lot of money in physical cards so I can't imagine fanatics going all digiital, but who knows. Also, they don't need to buy the topps or bowman names because they're not competing against anyone its just a matter of can they make more money buying the designs.

Maybe a basic question but does Topps/Panini employ the group in charge of card design? Or do they contract it out to graphic design companies? The success of this change, in my humble opinion, depends on the skillset of card designers.

Personally, I could care less what company name is on the card. I just want to see new, clever card designs (licensed of course). Companies like Arena Design, who were designing cards for Skybox back in the 90's, come up with all sorts of unique and cool ideas. I would love to see more emphasis on creativity and less emphasis on pushing out as many different #'d parallels as possible.

Something I don't see anymore are unique cards that have odds of say 1 per 10 cases. Not just a different color but a card totally unique in every way. Today, box and pack configurations are predicable which makes the opening a bit less exciting.
