I see Trout’s card has the bat on top of the border and I’d guess there are other examples out there too.

In the process of compiling the 2011 Topps Hope Diamond set (finished) and the 2013 Topps Sapphire Set (need 44 more), I have a few extra black border cards. 46 from 2011 Topps, 7 from 2012 Topps and 10 from 2013 Topps.

When the print run is /67 and you have 3 of a RC of a popular star player from one of the most collected teams, then yes, I'd say 3 is a lot!

Agree, I’ve perused his inventory many times (and purchased a 2014 black arenado from him once), and I am confused as to how he amassed nearly full sets of so many years of black cards? Pretty wild

There was a big thread on here many years ago about someone who was manipulating the “values” of Topps Black cards. If I remember right, he had complete or nearly complete sets of all of them.

Votto is sold! Now someone step up for that Kershaw.

EDIT: Votto went for $949.99. Very solid price in my opinion. I would have pegged it for more like $500.
