Surprised the Knicks are spending but I guess they’ll get a 5th seed instead of an 8th seed.

Spurs signing randos, Mavs making way to get luka outta there and Lakers signing up all the vets. Love the Baezmore signing personally.

I thought Allen would get more considering Olynk and others getting paid decent money. 5 years for 20 mil a season isn’t bad; but I like him. I would have given 23 per.

Somehow, Portis got less for two years than Olynyk, Noel and McDermott will get next season despite being younger and better than them.

What a steal.

If LaVine moves to SF, the Bulls just got their starting backcourt for less than 30% of the cap.

Very interesting take on what is 'deserving'...

Not a fan of Bazemore, but he'll give the Lakers some scoring at least. Caruso is actually a big loss for them but the money needs to be spread more. Assuming they can still S&T Dennis, but hope they don't get Hield for him.

Very interesting that not once, but at least twice now you continue to comment on my posts after saying you wouldn't. Just can't help yourself can you?

If CP3 was so deserving of a title, then Ersan being drafted in the same year and still sticking it out certainly is.

Spurs needed shooters and size. Got 1 in the draft, 1 in FA and maybe 1 pending health so ok so far?

Don’t know what the rest of the money will do though???

Eh? This isn't the playoff thread. Not sure why you think me saying I'd no longer respond to you about the Finals would carry over into ANY other thread?

My brain hurts reading the future predictions of Mavs fans.
You missed the word "if" in my previous comment. If the Mavs were to go after Lowry a S&T would be the smart way to do it because then they could also sign Hardaway. I never said i was excited about them going after him.

Dubs fans love the Bazemore signing too. He never met a 3 point shooter he didn’t want to foul.

God the Duncan Robinson, THJ, and Norman Powell deals are terrible for the Hawks and Kevin Huerter.

lotta Bucks fans on reddit think he got promised a bigger role & salary once BroLo retires. That plus he seems to love Milwaukee and the fans love him.

After trading for 32-year old Russell Westbrook, and acquiring 36-year old Trevor Ariza, 32-year old Kent Bazemore, 33-year old Wayne Ellington, and 35-year old Dwight Howard through free agency, combined with the 5 returning members under contract for next season, the LA Lakers currently have a 9-man roster with an average age of 33.0. Their oldest player as of now is 36-year old LeBron James and their youngest player is 28-year old Anthony Davis.

This comfortably beats out the 2015-16 San Antonio Spurs (31.6 yr) for the oldest team (in terms of average age) in the last 15 seasons. That Spurs team had 39-year old Tim Duncan as their oldest player and 22-year old Kyle Anderson as their youngest.
they are old as dirt. Lakers fans better hope ariza and Ellington shoot 40% on catch-and-shoot 3's, otherwise I don't think they make the conference finals.

Quote:
The 7 teams prior to this season who had an average roster age above 30 years old have had very different results - 1 suffered a 1st Round exit ('10 Mavericks), 2 suffered a 2nd Round exit ('13 Knicks, '16 Spurs), 1 suffered a Conference Finals exit ('08 Spurs), 2 lost in the Finals ('11 Heat, '14 Heat) and 1 won a title ('13 Heat).

Unless they move Capela and Gallinari after this season he is gone for sure. Of the guys they have, I would keep Trae, Huerter, Collins, and Okongwu long term. Don’t trust Hunter’s knees. Have to see much more from Cam than his one off best shooting game ever. Still has the same problems. Think Huerter’s potential is greater than Bogdan.
This is a big year for them in terms of competing. Won’t be so deep after the season.

What's the chance Collins takes a loyalty discount?

The Spurs only have 30.5 million left in salary cap space so he likely doesn't have a max unless OKC gives it to him.

I think he goes back but not at a big discount. They needed to sign other players before resigning him or matching an offer sheet. If they did it the other way around I guess they wouldn’t have been able to sign anyone else by inking him first. This is a strategic wait that I’m sure Collins is letting them do their thing on.

Thanks. Just waiting patiently as things are slow forming lol

Rudy to Utah was a loss they were expecting. Was a solid vet and pro for the Spurs. I guess losing Patty is next which will hurt big time.

To be fair to LeBron, 3 of those teams were his and they all made it to the Finals.

I think weighed minutes are more important than that. Those Heat team had a young LeBron and Bosh as well as Chalmers and Cole. This Lakers team has AD and that's it. They better make THT a key part of the rotation, they are gonna need the fresh legs.

agreed, and this is the big positive for getting a guy like RW... if RW+AD can play winning ball and allow Lebron to save himself for the playoffs, then maybe they do make some noise. I still think the fit is bad, but maybe LeBron rebrands himself again and becomes more of a spot-up shooter... it's Lebron, so it's not impossible.

No KCP or Caruso means their wing defense is also now pretty susceptible too - I don't know how they remedy that.
