I'm fully convinced that cpu pitching in moments is turned up to throw out of the zone way more than regular cpu pitching. That really drives me nuts...

Anyways, I never use it in actual games, but in moments on rookie difficulty, I nearly always use power swing when HRs or XBHs are needed. Sometimes I do the same on vet. If that still doesn't get it done, I try directional hitting. Usually one of those strategies leads to a breakthrough for me

I actually agree. It gets irritating sometimes.

I literally spent over an hour last night failing and repeating over and over, doing the exact same. Switching from normal to power to directional. All he seemed to do was throw low or out of the zone.

The occasional hittable pitches were either perfect liners, grounders or deep warning track shots. Even had 1 I thought was good, only to find out it bounced high off the wall and missed an inside the park by less than a foot

Thats when i posted lol

Try again this morning, and all he threw was high heaters and only took 3 tries to get it done

Ended up selling Mathewson last week even after getting better at locating with him. He just doesn't have the pitches and was getting smashed just about every time out

Currently sitting on near 1.5 million stubs

Waiting on Gossasge, Kenley, and Harper to drop on price. Have all the top players otherwise I think

Also expecting the big big collection to drop in 1-3 weeks. Would be surprised if it's not 99 Aaron

Think I'm going to load up on some select cards in preparation for that. Could be set for the year as far as stubs if it all works out well

Battle Royale program is currently paying off better than it has previously due to BR program packs giving 5 choice cards (1 from the new release and 4 from previous).

Many are salable from 3-4k stubs each and you may be able to get to 30 BR points for 3 total packs on a single entry with 6ish wins if you hit the required stats. Possible to get many more points than that if you go 12-0 of course. Just as a note for anyone who hasn't done the program before, points (at least for me) tend to be very frontloaded where you get many in early entries for easier tasks and then toward the end of the program basically come 1 at a time for each win

I estimate the current EV from the BR program (excluding the main reward and the 90 point bonus) to be 170k. Including those reward cards, it looks to be around 574k. The main reward and 90 point bonus will be dropping fast over the next week or so though, if they follow the usual pattern after a new season is released

I played in the SDS sanctioned toruney Saturday. First time doing anything like than in any game at all. All tourney stuff outside of the game was hosted by 3rd party site battlefy.com.

To say that the Battlefy portion of the proceedings were anything less than a total clusterF would be a complete understatement. Nothing I can remember about the whole thing was automated and everything was a true slog other than playing the actual game (when I was lucky and my opponent could work the system and knew the rules to set up everything on their end to a T and then got in the actual match).

Basically 2 hours of gameplay for me took the day from 11 am to 7 pm (while doing other stuff during downtime of course).

I ended up skipping the last game of the thing because i was already eliminated from graduating to the finals, and on the the match before that, my opponent was truly clueless and couldnt figure how to accept an invite that i sent probably 15 times). After around 30 minutes of trying to get the game going there, I contacted a battlefy admin and got a hilariously rude response basically calling me a dumbass for not contacting them within the first 3 minutes of the problem and that it was way too late to do anything. Left a bit of a bad taste really, but I'm over it now (other than being of the strong opinion that Battlefy sucks).

As far as gameplay on the 5 matches I played, I went 3-2. I haven't played on legend all year other than practice mode, which I always play on legend mode (but then online legend is a completely different speed than offline in my experience).

Anyway on a positive note, I did beat 2 WS players and all 3 wins were on walk-offs. 2 walk-offs were on Trea Turner no-doubters over the monster while I was playing as home in Fenway. So that was not too shabby considering that I have been spending nearly all of my online game time in BR on All Star.

So I was like I didn't know Trevor story got traded to the Yankees and then lo and behold the Yankees are trying to make a trade for Trevor story today

Dont get me wrong, Ryan and Daddy Vladdy look great! Morgan not so much.

Also next to nothing in other bonuses. 50 regular packs, handful of Ballin and Headliners, oh and hey in case you haven't had enough of those Kitchen Sink packs yet

Was expecting at least a HR Derby/AS pack or 2, guess ill see whats in Conquest and next weeks POTM program.

Also, better be Hank Aaron or similar caliber for next big collection or whats the point

Agree with most of what you said but I think that the Vladdy and Ryan look so good that they bring the entire drop up to W status if they live up to their ratings.

Vladdy specifically looks amazing with 125/125 contact at parallel 3 with excellent power and A-level vision. I feel like they kind of nerfed his fielding a bit but it still looks like it will play nicely with above avg speed and an A+ arm.

Ryan - first time I remember them putting Ryan in a ranger uni for a a card and that alone is a big W for me as a Ranger fan. The 125 H/9 rating is a huge boost from his 99 last year which was only 109. Control is boosted too and may actually be really good at P5.

Ive gave it some time, and after hearing some Youtubers and looking again at his statats, Morgan isnt such the L i was thinking.

He still has top end contact both ways, and power vs righties. I just saw that ugly power vs lefties and said nope.

Totally overlooked his defense, speed and stealing.

Still bummed about the lack of other "rewards" though.

Good news for me at least, with the new collection coming, Prospect prices have shot back up making the US conquest profitable again

I scooped 99 Goose the other day for 140k and have yet to play with him. Am pretty sure he will settle to around 90k at some point but he was one of my top guys for the duration last year and didn't want to chance it in case the WS reward prices go nutty with the release of whatever the next big collection is. Either way, thinking Goose will likely be in the BP until I'm done with game.

95 Soto and 93 Britton are basically the same card. Britton absolutely paints for me somehow though. If only he had a changeup or even a fair CB. Hopefully will be replacing one of those with either 99 Billy Wagner or 99 Aroldis at some point.

I could also replace Reyes or Smith with a top end righty. Kenley would seem the most obvious but I've never been so good with his cards for some reason. I do wonder how his cutter plays, however. Looks a lot like Mo's but could be a really nice option if it controls more like its 99 control rating than Mo's 99 control rating does. Mo is very good but his Cutter doesn't feel like it should to me

Nice. I have Morgan leading off right now in a BR run. Didn't get a hit in the first game but swing felt good and he is out of the box like lightning.

Last year I played with his MVP card quite a bit. IIRC, he never got over .250 for me but it was like everything he hit was a double+ with a lot of them being walk-offs. Also, I like how speed plays at 2B this year with so much bunting going on

Didn't compare stats yet, but is he THAT much better than Acuna to make him this collection?
