Here's one nobody's talked about - Jon Gray to Toronto for Yosver Zulueta. I bet he does great once he gets away from the Rockies.

Whole-heartedly agree on Gray pitching well out of Colorado.

I have no idea if the Braves will be buyers/sellers - only 7 games back of the WC and they have a +19 run differential. Thats best in MLB for anyone .500 or below, and the only other + team in that category is oddly enough the Marlins
Gallo to the Yankees for The Martian.

i'm interested to see where Joey Gallo ends up, because from what they were saying at the HR Derby, he's all but gone.

but who makes a run at him? Giants? Yanks?

also think Kris Bryant and maybe Rizzo are out in Chicago, but that's just me.

Kris Bryant to the Mets makes the most sense. Not that I am biased or anything and heck no if we have to give up Francisco Alvarez to do so.

I'm guessing you mean major league ready pitching? I'd hope they are fairly happy with their young pitchers since they picked 20 of them in the draft and not one position player

It does make the most sense.

No way on Alvarez. If I'm the cubs i would ask for Baty, but don't see that happening either

Starling Marte gets moved for a top 50 player. Marlins surprisingly deal a younger arm for a major impact bat.

Brian Cashman brings in a washed up trash pitcher. Also gets a guy that stinks but may hit a hr and can't play defense.

Yes, already in MLB pitching.

They got the offense but no pitching

As a Cubs fan (who is realistic on what a rental of even a guy like Bryant will get), I'd LOVE a guy like Alvarez. I agree that it isn't likely.

Baty also probably also a stretch. But maybe.

I was thinking it would be more likely something like a Vientos plus 2. Maybe they'll send the Cubs de la cruz back. ha ha ha.

The Indians are sellers, not buyers. They'll ship out Rosario, Hernandez, maybe Shaw and perhaps a catcher, but they're not going to do anything short-term.

I don't think Haniger or Grossman seem like Indians trade targets, but I do think you're on the right track. They have a very messy 40 man situation and need to ship away quite a few prospects, so it wouldn't shock me to see them make a move for someone with a little more term left in their contract.

The trade I would love is:

Braves trade Freddie Freeman to Brewers
Braves get back Garrett Mitchell

After season ends Freddie resigns with the Braves.

Win Win

The team I've been hearing the most is the Padres. They have enough to get him and the need. I'd love it if he goes to the Giants. Probably the best realistic team for my wallet would be the White Sox.

They need left handed hitting is the reasoning, I think. Plus Gallo is such a quality player you don't worry about how he goes about it.

I hadn't really thought of the Yankees as a realistic landing spot until my GF mentioned Kris Bryant maybe going to the Yankees. I told her if the Yankees can use Bryant they can use Gallo. Personally I think all the anybody to the Yankees rumors is mostly hogwash. Everybody ties the biggest names to the Yankees whether they need them or not.

Personally if I were the GM of the Yanks I would be setting up my team for 2022. That basically means dealing away Urshela to make room for Seager or Crawford via FA this offseason. If Gallo comes at a reasonable price (he won't) then do it, but I wouldn't be ponying up at 9 games out in the division and 5.5 back in a seven team scrum for the 2nd WC.

Olney- Other teams say the Twins have indicated they aren't inclined to consider moving players under contractual control through 2022 -- like José Berríos. One possible and natural match for a Twins player currently available in the market (this is speculation): Andrelton Simmons.

Happy to hear this. The rotation and bullpen both need a lot of work this offseason, but I don't think we were going to be able to find as good a deal as I would have liked. Trade the pending FAs, hold onto everyone else, then be aggressive in free agency and try it again next year. Too many pieces already in place to push the window back several years
