I'm not a big Pardee fan like the rest in here, but the Alonso is not even close to his worst card. It actually relates to the player with the polar bear. The Mays is easily his worst so far. It is way too dark.

I like that it pairs well with his first set of cards. And the connection to the nickname. But it’s still kind of meh for me. I feel like it’s staring into my soul lol

That's how I've felt for all of his cards other than the Acuna. Just meh to me. I actually prefer Distortedd. But I know I'm in the minority there.

Unlike many of his other cards this one actually has a direct tie in to a current player’s nickname. I agree with Oli that it is from his worst card. But art is subjective and all that.

As a casual fan I’m 95% buying for art. Some PC players/team, but mostly art. I’ve just come to expect a certain level of “a little out there” with Pardee and this feels the most literal.

I like him as an artist and will “catch them all” despite skipping on Acuna (doh!). Seeing this makes me wish that he stuck with portraits like Acuna and Trout but

I'd like to see his next group of cards be based on the player's actual nickname....maybe we see an Andre Dawson or Dave Parker

At least the Trout had eyes in his hat so it kinda looked like the creature took him over and wasn't being worn as a costume. This looks like Alonso wearing a smiling bear mask

I dont mind the Pardee Alonso. I like it more than his Fingers. Think I'll going back to buying direct from Topps vs wheeler. At least until I get another shipment from him

Got the Quiccs Prince Fish AP in yesterday and I have to say, it looks awesome. Immediately one of my favorite cards in the set. I know the nickname was an issue for some people here, but it's really worth checking out.

I don't mind the similarities between Pardee's Alonso and his Trout. I was never as high on him as some and I think that means I won't get as low, either.

That Alonso is very uninventive from Pardee. the bottom half looks like so many of his other cards over the years, just drawn vs photograph
