I think with the Collegiate Licensing Brand releasing the goal in February of wanting to double their revenue in Fiscal Year 2021-22 helped contribute to more college sets. The brand obviously licenses to more than Panini, but they would be swept up in the increase.

I opened the rest and no parallels below /49 (Other than the /11 ice) and only "retail" name AUTO's

Anyways I did open 3 cases last year of regular Hobby so overall this FOTL seems off. My case may be an outlier though as they next day shipped it to me for some reason. Usually my FOTL cases are shipped via ground or 3 day.

I did do well with the /11 parallels (3 Trey's, 1 Mac)

What were the top autos? If you didn’t pull any big names I guarantee you either a) something is very off or b) panini changed the output. Last year there was not one single case ripped and I saw a TON ripped that didn’t have at least one top QBs auto and multiple other first round and top second round skill guys.

I agree, it could be whoever hand collated the box to case forgot to load or missed the premium boxes. What’s more telling is no parallel under /49 other than the fotl /11 exclusives

I advice folks on watching some video breaks before purchasing from the secondary market

Deeply troubling for sure. Chronicles Draft was a fantastic product last year. If I recall there was no FOTL for Chronicles Draft in 2020 so all the cases I saw were just regular hobby. I’m now much less excited to open mine. Was supposed to come today as well but looks like it won’t arrive till tomorrow at this point. It doesn’t make sense to make FOTL vastly vastly inferior to regular hobby. We won’t know till Friday at the earliest what regular hobby looks like. This has me worried. I don’t know that panini can do anything for you if you technically got all the autos and FOTL exclusives but I don’t want anyone saying it’s normal to not get ANY big autos in a full case. That’s just utter nonsense.

Sorry but the fact you hate draft products has nothing to do with this. Nothing whatsoever. There was a similar problem I remember with 2018 Optic FOTL Baseball of all products. Got a case and didn't pull a numbered parallel under 50 except for the Cracked Ice and the Autos outside of the FOTL exclusive were dreadful. It looked like there was certain auto sets you had zero chance at.

I think Panini does strange things with Chronicles. Retail baseball last year seemed loaded. I bought about 10 blasters and hit a fairly high amount of low # cards, I recall hitting two /10 and two white mosaic (/24?) along with other numbered cards.

It seemed like they were hobby packs, but with less autos. The autos that were there were low tier paper autos with stickers.

I watched a few box breaks on youtube last night after reading the orginal post. Auto's are definitely brutal and inline with the Leewei's original post. Last year I opened a few boxes and each one had a nice RPA and at least one good auto amongst the other "hits". I watched 5 boxes opened and saw 0 RPA's and only one notable auto (Etienne). All others auto's were complete no names. I only ordered one box, not nearly as bad as a lot of others on here, but still really disappointing to know that it is going to be a pretty big disappointment. I know their is speculation that standard hobby boxes will be different, but that's a big assumption in my mind. Seems like this series could be a big bust this year.

I posted on here yesterday my concern that like OP I ordered a full FOTL case. Got it at floor but after OP post I was worried. I ripped my full case this morning. All I can say is that it was shocking and bewildering to say the least. The ONLY on card autos I pulled were Kenneth Gainwell and Ihmir Smith-Marsette. I pulled FIVE Blake Proehl Score autos.

Other than the FOTL exclusive ice /11 the parallels were trash. Maybe this is intentional, but if you look at checklist on Cardboard Connection only the subsets numbered 1-300 were included. In other words, starting with Rookies & Stars (beginning at card # 301) there were NO cards in my case. Maybe that's retail only? I don't know.

At this point you may think it was a total loss. Except for TWO cards the case was a pretty much COMPLETE bust. The two cards that saved the case at least in part were both incredible. Trevor Lawrence Platinum Limited RPA 1/1 AND his teammate Travis Etienne ONE quad patch RPA also 1/1. Both have sick patches, as you might imagine. Those two cards were unreal and they came in the second and third last boxes in the case. It was like finding water in a dessert.

I mean I can't even tell you after those two unreal cards my next best auto. Elijah Moore origins? Davis Mills? Seriously after those two cards it was a MASSIVE gap to the next best auto. So very strange. Every case of Chronicles Draft last year had significantly more balance to the auto quality. I'm VERY curious to see what hobby looks like and if it has the 4 subsets #301-400.

Nice! I had no patch/prizm auto's in mine. More than 50% of the autos were Score and no top talent.

I actually had a few folks reach out to me privately with the same experience. Really not sure what can be done.

I’m not trying to say woah is me look how bad this case was. I’m just trying to point out the oddities of this case in terms of the content. I’m very fortunate to have pulled those two monsters and as such I really can’t complain about the case in total.

But let’s say I bought the other 14 boxes that didn’t have those two cards. It would have been horrifically bad for a FOTL purchase of that size. I’m talking barely any hits from guys who were even drafted and none of the top skill guys. And that’s very strange for someone like me who’s very familiar with this product from last year to say.

Last year’s Contenders Draft had FAR more balance to the hits in terms of quality and variety. Anybody looking to buy the FOTL boxes of this should be aware. I’m not trying to say cry me a river. Just want to get that straight.

You did more than fine. You hit the top rookie QB's RPA and it was a 1/1 at that. That's gona be more than what can be said for most cases of this product. Chronicles Draft is not nearly as loaded as Chronicles NFL, even for FOTL. Just look at 2020's sets. 2020 Chronicles football was loaded with the top rookie QBs in every single box

Wanted to add that apparently the four “subsets” numbered 301-400 on the checklist aren’t available on FOTL boxes. That’s Rookies & Stars, Origins, Playbook, and can’t remember the other. I wouldn’t say that you’re missing much there, but again for completionists like me it’s still annoying. But Panini disclosed that cards from the subsets numbered 1-300 would be available in FOTL.

At the end of the day, I’m very anxious to see how regular hobby cases look come Friday. That will be telling. Chronicles Draft and regular Chronicles were absolutely phenomenal last year in 2020 but jury is very much out on this product this year.

If hobby case rips are similar to FOTL then this is a very different product in terms of output compared to last year. Something tells me hobby will have deeper list of good autos pulled compared to FOTL on a case per case basis. We will see.

It's all a gamble my friend if you were gaunteed to hit the top guys the prices would be redicous and also ruin the excitement of hitting one.
Only purchased on case which was back in 2007 it wasn't a big winner either but it's the game we play. Stick to singles if you can't stand losing the gamble


Edit: to be fair the 2007 price for that Bowman chrome case was cheaper than many of the last two years single hobby boxes lol

I opened a normal hobby box today. One Score auto, one Origins auto, one Limited patch auto, two jersey cards.
