“Grade Reviewed by BGS”

BGS reviewed the counterfeit rave and confirmed it was authentic. LOL.

Correct. When I say "from Asia" I just mean they're manufactured in Asia. Many wind up being sold stateside.

Thanks for documenting these counterfeits.

Oops...
Beckett: The card is examined first to determine its authenticity and that is has not been altered. Once the card has been deemed to be authentic and unaltered, the condition is assessed.

I know this sounds selfish, but sometimes I do wonder why they keep on targeting 90s inserts and parallels. There are more lucrative ones, why can't they get out of the era I collect. It's already hard enough to be collector nowadays, can't open boxes cause sealed products are too expensive, and potential PC cards are constantly being faked.

Yeah I saw those Kobe’s the other day and the serial #’s looked off to me but I’ve only started searching for Thunder raves after picking one up recently.

Do you think those are backdoor or completely fake? It figures PWCC is selling one..

This is pretty wild... I saw someone at the Fairfield, CA show yesterday offer raw copies of two of these cards (the plat medallion and the rubies) to a vendor for trade for some very high end stuff. They were in one touches in little baggies (not self sealing type) which seemed like an odd way to store them to me.

It's of course entirely possible they were real, but thought it'd be helpful to note that there could be plenty of these already out there.

Wow, your post is even better, thanks.

He responded to me with a great answer if you saw. Your response makes you seem kinda douchy. Cheers

These are not backdoored copies. These are counterfeits created from scratch.

If they were able to create first-year Star Rubies from scratch, they can make anything from scratch. Just imagine the additional push from them upon seeing how much the market blew up.

Stabilization won’t even be a deterrent.

Posted in the Kobe thread.

Star Rubies don't have edges that smooth raw. Fresh out of the pack either.

Same with the Thunder. Dead give away

Until it’s not. This is why maris doesn’t expound in pub threads.

When you say star rubies, you mean the 1997-98 rubies, not the 1996-97 rubies, right?

This is troubling to me.

Making me consider selling my high end, popular products which is obviously the easiest targets for counterfeiters and focus more on the mid tier stuff, which almost certainly isn't counterfeited.

Yup, star rubies from 97/98.

I packed pulled an AI Team Skybox Star Ruby back in the day (43/50). And opened these boxes back then as a kiddo. Edges weren't that clean

Im pretty sure every single card could be faked 90% close with todays technology.
Each printing plate is floating around.
So also each raw digital raw picture is floating around.
Each digital print settings are floating around.
It would be dumb to think that not way more graded fakes floating around.
From every single company out there.
