I listed my Terence Mann Prizm silver rookie a week ago and it only has 13 views. Something isn’t right.

So you dropped the price and updated item spec. How about something in item description, just plain lazy not to fill that out . Also why charge 50 cents per additional item. I mean you can ship 3-6 cards all in top loaders for under 4 ounces at the same cost? You should be happy to get a buyer who wants more than one item not penalize them.

One last thing maybe placing a color behind your scan that shows the edges of your card better will help.

I know today was the day they were going to start the item specifics stuff. I created a few variations with 'Card Number' as the name. I went to edit a listing and now I can't because 'Card Number is no longer allowed as a variation specific'. Glitch or going to have to recreate the listing? What are we supposed to call the variations at this point???

It has to be a glitch as they are processing all the listings that did not meet the required specifics today right? If it was allowed as of last night when I was relisting items then what changed...

Yeah has to be connected to that. I actually just use PYC or something random like that to name a Variation now because there is no way that will conflict with whatever they screw up next. Don't use any of the words that Ebay has for item specifics at all.

Wait… I’m alittle confused. eBay does not recognize the variation word in the title of a card or you meant in the description listing? I don’t really use the variation category - I use it on the title. As far as I know as a seller, I haven’t lost money by not using the variation category in a listing…

When you create variations you have to have a 'name' for them. They used to have quite a few default options but I believe the only thing they have now is Card Number and one other obscure one. It has nothing to do with what you put in a listing's title. If whatever you call the variations are in conflict with the set Ebay item specifics (Card Number, Player Name, etc) then it causes errors in your listings.

I am seeing the same thing. I am out of town and ended all my listings yesterday. Listings that I just had to redo to Card Number because of the earlier Variations issues. I am trying to add some additional cards and I'm getting the "Card number not allowed" message. I really hate calling eBay it is usually a long and painful and unsuccessful experience.

I am all for using what is going to work, which "card number" did work as of this weekend and make all the sense in the world. If this does not work then what in the world do they want us to use? Still holding out that this is a glitch from their purge of listings that did not update in time.

If you don't mark condition it is getting the error. The only condition you can place is USED . This is asinine as this is not for Sports card , but more for magic and pokemon. The morons at ebay really botched this one.

Thank you. I literally just came here to see why I couldn't list new auctions tonight and you've answered my question. Not happy that we have to call a card "used" and I hope that doesn't deter ignorant buyers, but at least I can list now.

Yeah same. I put a ticket in two days ago but nothing has changed. Thankfully I hedged my bets and half the listings I created since their last update used the 'Card Number' name for variation. I am pretty sure we are going to have to recreate those listings as that's what I had to do 2 years ago when this happened. They told me they were 'working' on it and then finally they just flat out told me it was a programming conflict and there was nothing they could do about it.

The fact that you have to mark used for all of your listings now is just a moronic play by ebay . So I say anyone that can be online for this idiot running the sports cards spot for the ebay open we need to hammer this guy and ask him what they were thinking or the lack of thought when they came up with these new changes..

So I spent the July 4th holiday weekend (3 days, about 22 hours total) updating all my listings, all the item specifics, and 60 variation listings. For my baseball team sets (one variation listing per team) I used "Year and Set" as the variation, but for the prospect lots (also one variation listing per team), I selected "Card Number" because that is how I have them listed. Maybe it is owing to the fact that I completed these before the 7/12 deadline, but so far it seems to be working.

eBay has gotten on a very bad run of total upheaval every 6 months or so (managed payments, and this latest orgy with item specs and variation restrictions). I'm not going to be able to withstand another episode anytime soon.

They will all be active and work...but you can not go in there and make revisions...it will tell you that "card number" is not valid. At least it does for me.
