Default Has anyone use PWCC to sell

Hello All,

I was wondering if anyone used PWCC to sell high value items?
I was looking at their page the other day and I was considering to use them but it seem to me that you send them your items and there basically are in control of it and will only send items back if there's no value in the items,

Thanks

Unless you’re planning to shill your auctions, why would you want your cards back if you’re selling them?

I wouldn't want them back - I was saying they keep your items if they don't sell the first or second go around, so if you wanted to try Let's say - COMC consignment you have to go thru so much to get the items back (with fees a course). A got a private message and they explain it more in detail.

If they don't sell they obviously aren't high value seeing as they start their listings at $9.99.

Their minimum item value is $20, but generally with the fee structure you wouldn't want to send them anything under $50. After that it's 13.5% up to $200, and the fees decline as the value goes up. I would only send graded stuff worth at least $50 that you're ok with sending to auction (which means it's pretty much guaranteed to sell).

actually you have more control with PWCC than you do with most auction houses. there is a window where you can review the listing and request edits to photos, title, description, etc. whenever you use a broker (e.g., auction house), you are giving up control to them. in fact, that's the point...they are taking care of the sale for you. i stopped selling on eBay many years ago as it's just way too many hassles, so i have found pwcc and other online brokers to be a much easier way to go. you have to pay their fees but they're prob getting better prices than i would if i did it myself directly anyway.

You sound like a PWCC spokesperson.

I'll say it again.......sell it yourself

Whats your "high value" mean? Im guessing its probably best for you to sell them on your own.

Great insight guys, I have a few graded items (high Value in my eyes) and with the eBay fees not sure if I should sell on eBay but seeing that about the same 13.5% might take that chance....Possible Grades included

There is no professionalism to be found at PWCC. You've been warned.

I'd send those graded ones to them, but to each his own. By all means use ebay yourself if you prefer. Just remember you're gonna pay 13% between ebay and paypal, plus shipping on each item. With Pwcc, just send one box over to them, let them do the work and wait for your payment.

But ebay limits their final value fees so depending on the sale price of the item there could be huge difference in selling fees.

If you sell a $10K card thru PWCC you pay $800 in fees, ebay I only pay $350. On a $50K card thru PWCC you'd pay $4000 in fees where ebay is still only $350 for me.

Ebay store is capped at $350, for non-store I think (not positive) it's $750.

PWCC has eye balls galore and you need to consider the 'return' factor. I am just small time collector, but if I had high end stuff, PWCC would be on top of my list. If I had Jordan Rookie Card PSA 10, I wouldn't take the chance of selling it myself and the possibility of a return/shenanigans with buyers. Just my 2 cents.

and you sound like someone who values his time lower than I do mine. I consign through pwcc, Goldin, heritage and Probstein. Not a spokesman for any and have had ups and downs with all… but I would never go back to selling on eBay myself. Nowhere near worth my time. Good luck.

It’s not really hard-capped anymore though, since everyone is on managed pay. So you still have to pay 2.35% above $5k or whatever the number is. That gets baked in with a consignor. I think it’s still more net if you do it yourself, but selling a $50k card through my personal eBay account would also be assuming a lot of risk

Use Probstein123. I'm a Ricky fan but recently consigned PWCC items as well as created my dad his own account and consigned items for him. Terrible experience.

1) May auction - ~25% of items for my dad went unpaid for.

2) 1 item (Jordan 87/88 Fleer BGS 8.5) was not listed in the May auction despite being received by the deadline

3) Customer support chat logs from two different reps confirmed the Jordan would be listed in May. Never happened. Auction came and went. Customer support said it should be listed in June or July after I asked that the card be returned to me. It was not listed in June. July postings should be up in the next week, if it's not listed they are getting an angry call

4) Payout is a disaster, with their new website you have to opt in to receiving ACH payments. Payouts from May auction hit accounting on June 16th, 2 weeks past auctions which is whatever. My dad was paid on the 17th. I still have not been paid

5) Still have no idea/communication about what/when the 25% of items that went unpaid will be relisted

With Ricky, I literally send him a box of #@#@#@#@, he lists it in 1 day. The morning after the auctions end I get an itemized excel document that usually comes with a full payout or cash advance. Absolutely insane how much easier it is to go with Ricky.

Didn't someone post that Probstein123 had Fake Graded cards up for auction?

I would need help with anything valued at 15k - I had buyers from eBay shaft me with return after they or their mail person damage a high end Lebron Auto - I was out 2300.00
with a damage card - SMH

Even if you choose to sell through Probstein or PWCC, wouldn't you be exposed to the same risk of getting shafted by a bad buyer who happened to win the auction? What would happen if lets say Probstein sold your card and the buyer claimed he never got it or returned the card damaged or some other bs shenanigans? Probstein or any of these auction houses don't guarantee you the money from the sale in these unfortunate situations do they?

That’s one of the main reasons you sell through them. Once the buyer pays, it’s your money. Not dealing with shipping and returns are part of the service you’re paying for.

The other reasons obviously being: as places to sell your trimmed and counterfeit cards, and shill your own auctions, amirite?

If you have any ethics or integrity in your chosen hobby you give PWCC a wide berth but if you are driven by money/love money then PWCC is tremendous for you!
