Reminds me of George Halas' comments on Red Grange.
"I was interviewing George Halas and I asked him who is the greatest running back he ever saw. He said, 'That would be Red Grange.' And I asked him if Grange was playing today, how many yards do you think he'd gain. And he said, 'About 750, maybe 800 yards.' And I said, 'Well, 800 yards is just okay.' He sat up in his chair and he said, 'Son, you must remember one thing. Red Grange is 75 years old,'" says Chris Berman on ESPN Classic's SportsCentury series. |

Mountcastle has shown signs of being a quality MLB bat though. Adell has shown nothing yet. Just strikeout after strikeout. You are right though, Adell does still have potential at his age.

An old rookie getting a card or two is still better than managers or retired non hall of fame Yankee or Red Sox players.
How about another Hayes? He is holding value on the secondary market. Wander for sure even with it being a call up instead of a rookie. Adell and Kelenic if planning out more than a month from now. Akil Baddoo could use some love. Seriously, a lot of great players have troubles at first in the majors. Would be shame for the set if a player goes on to have a HOF quality career only gets one card out of 1,000 because they struggled their first time up. And...their fathers all played baseball. And they hit a lot of home runs. Age isn't everything. It helps if they're great baseball players, too, and people think they have the potential to be "all-time" great.

So today we get 26-year-old Shohei Ohtani, 51-year-old Ken Griffey, Jr., and who else?

I'm also holding out hope for a Jazz Chisholm. There's a lot of cool stuff you cand do with him and his name.

This is fantastic, Blake! Thanks for sharing! I remember my Grandpa and Dad telling me stories about Brooks when I was 4 or 5. I have been looking forward to seeing him get a card in this set and am thrilled that you are the artist. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

These cards today...…..are really rough. Lasorda is just beyond words. That Claw Money set is a joke.

The Lasorda is HILAROUS. Incredible.
Also love the Childish Gambino/Soto mashup from OMA. |
