The Singles Club will be back again. Some of the best $1 boxes you'll find at the NSCC. We'll also be debuting something new for collectors as well. More info coming soon.

Come check us out at booths 473 & 574.

Looking back on what was at the Singles Club in 2019 in the hours I spent looking there, I should have bought a ton more if I had insight into what would happen to the hobby in the next two years, lol.

Hoping you’ll have lots of low end currys in there

Thanks for stopping by in 2019 Scott. We were just looking at some photos from the boxes we took that year. Kobe, Wilson, Mookie rookies for $1…simpler times

Default Singles club 2019

I was there each day. I spent $1200+ there and got the '59 Koufax. You guys gave me one of those little snack trays to start and I laughed and said just give me a box. Each day after that you had a box waiting for me !!

this was like 1/3 of the show last time. you need to be more specific. Heritage base, bowman paper base, hockey, etc.

Last time is not this time. Have you watched any of the YouTube videos from recent big card shows? It's 90% high end and slabs these days. Very few dealers are putting together value boxes like they once did. I think value boxes are going to be a hit this year because there will be far less than usual and I suspect slab fatigue to set in quickly.

To be fair, the videos people are posting only show the mid-to-high end showcases (who wants to see rows of $.10 boxes). So, they don't post those.

But, they are there. Less...but they are there.

I am going to be curious to see the differences between the National and other current "big" shows. The National has been sold out for the last handful of years and only current dealers have been able to purchase booths. There may be some "new" dealers who latch on to current booth holders, but a lot of the newer, shiny, slab heavy dealers may not have as much of a presence at the show as they might have other places. Just a thought, maybe I'm wrong.

FYI - I have my same 4 booths as previous Chicago shows. It will be a similar setup to last time with the exception that I will bring some wax from 2018-present this year. There is just too much value there for me not to bring it.

I will post details of my setup as we get closer, but it will likely look something like this:
100,000+ $1 cards (Dollar boxes) all sorted by sport and team.
20,000+ $4 cards ($4 boxes) with lots of GU, Autos, low serial numbered inserts, etc.
20 Showcases of stuff. Probably 50% baseball, 30% football, 15% basketball and 5% non-sports
1-2 tables of wax - mostly retail that I have distributor contracts for (not that ever sat on a walmart/target shelf), but some hobby also.

If you have to explain why it's a 1/1, then it's NOT a 1/1.

Looking for Andre Dawson Serial numbered cards that are his jersey number - either #8 or #10. So looking for cards like 8/8 or 08/99 or 10/250.

Your first stop should be the singles club if that is what you are looking for. You just sit and get lost in all of the cards. Gotta have patience, it is like panning for gold. You may go through three entire rows finding nothing and start to think to yourself, WTH am I doing here, I am missing out and there is nothing here. Then the next row you will find that gem on your list (or not on your list) that you didn't expect to find for $1.00 and you keep going back for more. I did get frustraded a few times. GREAT DEALER MAKE SURE YOU STOP BY!

This will be my first time going to the Nationals. I am mainly looking for Raiders cards. From low end to high end. Do most of the dealers have them in boxes by team?

Are your bargain boxes broken down by sport?

You will LOVE the Nationals. It is pretty overwhelming, but once you get past the initial shock, just settle in and enjoy the ride. There is SO much going on.

It is very hit and miss. Some dealers say, "I don't sort my cards, because if I did, I would have to charge you for my time to sort". Others sort their cards because they know they will sell more if their cards are sorted. I pass on cards that aren't sorted because you have to spend 20 minutes sorting through baseball and football to find one basketball card and it is usually a 90-91 Hoops scrub card.

I guarantee you will have to the time of your life because the Nationals is what you make of it. Meeting other collectors, cardboard overload, good dining, take in a Cubs game, and so much more........

Enjoy the ride and give us a recap afterwards......

Thank you for the response! My wife surprised me with tickets so I am pretty excited to fill up my PC.
