And that's sad cause he wouldn't be a starter or their 3rd or 4th best player on any of these playoff teams goes to show you how bad this Mavs team really is

+1 today. Only Boban and DFS in the positive category.

Still remember many of the Luka/Mavs fans in this thread saying the Richardson trade was a good one. And some saying the Mavs pieces were better than the Hawks.

People also still referencing regular season hawks stats that don’t matter. This is not the same injured team. They also upgraded Rondo to Lou. Philly actually shot a better percentage overall today. Hawks will have games like this, and worse shooting games. Most will be closer to today though. I’d be most worried about how Embiid will hold up. Looked to be really struggling in the 4th with pain. Came down bad on the knee trying to go over Capela’s back.
In theory it was good. They didn’t really need to get better offensively. They had to get better defensively. Unfortunately, Richardson has his worst season of his career. He’s so bad that Trey Burke has more minutes than him in game 7. Disaster of a trade, and Nelson should be fired for that move alone.

Four big offseason questions. Does Luka sign the extension? Does KP get traded? Is Rick the coach in 2021? And can they sign a true #2 to help take off some of the pressure on Luka?

Not saying I called this. But.............I called this. Half way through game 6 to be exact.

The Mavs had their chance in game 6, but for whatever reason, Luka became passive and the game was lost. This was the chance the Mavs had and it was lost.

I think the Mavs supporting cast isn't as bad as everyone thinks. I'm not entirely clear on their cap space/free agents, but I don't think a total turnover on the roster will happen, so it is what it is.

Bottom line: the Mavs need to mature. Greater success will come. People just need to be patient.

And Luka: Work on the second half conditioning and defense. (yes, people are noticing)

Wrong they had their chance in game 3 and this series would have been over by now

So much iso for the Mavs. Clippers just pass, pass, pass until you find the open man.

Difference is their open guys can hit shots unlike the Mavs "others"

It was certainly humorous how many people were already deciding a new team for Kawhi... shows how young the board is I guess?

Apparently Kawhi was a poor leader too, looks pretty strong out there tonight.

Disappointing end for Luka & the Mavs but remember (actual Mav fans) Luka is a 3RD YEAR PLAYER and against a team as deep as the Clippers they were always dogs... Its tough out West, always has been

Shout out the member who called Kennard, it was that burst which sunk the Mavs!

I think we just saw the difference there. Key open shots made by Clippers role players morris and jackson. And so the Mavs answer with…thj? finney-smith? jrich? kleber…?

Not.

When thinking about Luka as a potential GOAT, has there been a guy in the history of the NBA who is considered one of the goats that has not been a two way player? Lots of great offensive players over the years but it seems the guys that win championships are good on both sides of the ball.

Kawhi has been unbelievable in this series. Showing why he is still a top 3 player. 7 games shooting 60%. That's 60% shooting hard shots and mostly jumpers outside of 10 feet. Not easy gimme baskets.

Don't think he'll ever be all nba... but I think he can become a good defender.

He's not terrible now.

Think Kevin Durant.

I think the take home message is Luka didn't fade in the second half this game which bodes well. He is growing and will learn from this.

The future is bright. Personally, With Luka and Trae, I am all in on 2018 basketball.

Don’t remember ever seeing this version of soul devouring reggie jackson. All series long. I would not argue the difference is the the Clippers players make their shots.
