I agree with this a lot. I know a few people who have stacked pink and sepia due to their value in the refractor spectrum but for me I just like the X, Prism, base as it’s the normal rainbow color not anything to weird.

If he ends up as good as some of us think it won’t matter from a card value perspective they will all head north down the line

Feels like the average graded card buyer has become increasingly more aware of pop reports...particularly for non-numbered parallels. That's helping chrome prism prices as they're generally just slightly higher in pop than the xfractor.

Its finally here

Now i just gotta decide if i have the stones to hold it vs sell it

I think itll probably be a hold unless i get a solid offer but i know id probably prefer grab a handful of other cards and put some money in my pocket.

I will say we’re to this weird inflection where low pops may be due for a leg up.

PSA10 Base or non-#’d refractors doing 850-1000+
PSA10 Base autos doing 2000+

I gotta think the color numbered from 25 to 299 are gonna have to move if base autos catch up considering they’re at a 20-200x print run

I know mine won’t grow quite the same being BGS, but it was subbed before PSA took the leap from a 10% premium to a 30% premium

And if that happens cards in general will fall off.

I don't know, it's so hard to predict such things you never know what could cause the premium to drop or widen further.

It's a beautiful card with a top grade of a highly desirable player. It'll sell well regardless.

Yeah im not too worried about it. Im up nearly 8X my initial buy so im happy either way.

Im just torn between the possibility of it being a 50,000 dollar card down the line vs being happy with a big payday and getting to continue the collection.

It's definitely a tough decision. Luckily for me Tatis is a PC player so I would have a hard time letting go of mine even if I wanted to.

Man, that's such a beautiful card...if I PC'ed Tatis, I would want to hold it. Long term I don't think breaking it up for parts is going to make you happier, because you'll never have something so iconic and, frankly, so pretty. It's close to a perfect modern baseball card in my eyes. If you're going to sell it and pivot away from cards as an asset class, that's different, but I wouldn't sell it just to buy cheaper Tatis cards.

It’s more of not being overexposed financially to cards and a single player.

I like my collection of cards as an expensive hobby that occasionally is an investment. I’m I’m not as comfortable having $10,000 in Tatis alone.

It’s just more in cards than I really ever have had or want to have at this point. Not that I don’t believe in him

Those blues are so underrated, especially given how nice they are and how difficult the are to gem
