Lucky for them they built a good lead throughout the game but they can't afford to continue making those mistakes throughout the series.
It's an uphill journey for the Hawks to win this series, but Embiid isn't 100% and the Sixers got away with a lot of fouls down the stretch that they'll be whistled on in Atlanta.

The Sixers can only go as far as Embiid can carry them in this series.
The Hawks are just as deep.

It's super-weird that you think a relevant post about my playoff team in the Playoff Thread is somehow 'fighting,' you come off a young teenager that gets triggered easily when s/he hears a differing opinion.

The Hawks won't score as much against the #2 Defense than the league-average Defense in a 7-game series. Anyone who doesn't understand that should log off for a while, or open a stats textbook. Anyone who thinks that's spin should see a therapist.

No Embiid, the Hawks could definitely win. At the right odds, I'd even bet on it. With a healthy Embiid they'd be lucky to win 2 games, which is a great accomplishment for a historically awful team to achieve in one season.

Atlanta proceeds to drop 128 on em.

You legit haven’t been correct about any take I’ve seen. Even a broken clock is right once in awhile. Just retire from these boards and allow people with better opinions to post

I wouldn't be too worried if I were a Philly fan. Sometimes you get punched in the mouth in a Game 1, and the Hawks were absolutely lights out from downtown in the 1st half and finished with 20 treys. Its will be hard for them to replicate that, 76ers were down almost 30 and still almost snatched a victory.

Hopefully Joel is ok, he played pretty hard tonight, hit the deck in the 4th a couple times but overall looked impressive. Absolutely roasted Clint... That's the biggest mismatch. Philly gotta control tempo next 1st quarter

If they snatched that game away from the Hawks. It’s over in 4 or 5. Would be so demoralizing. I can already see the Sixers game plan on defense for game 2.

The Clippers need another star to go with Kawhi.

I’d be worried. Hawks just stole home court advantage in a game they were supposed to lose. Also, wear and tear on Embiid (who was clearly in pain at the end) in a game they ultimately lost. In hindsight, would have been better to sit/rest him.

I’m ecstatic if I’m a Hawks fan - blown lead or not, a win is a win in a series most believed would be heavily one-sided when the playoffs began.

Problem is Philly was the most experienced and supposedly poised team coming in. These Hawks are pups

I mentioned it before, they will need to launch 3s all series long and it didn’t look like any were particularly bad shots this game. But each tame is going to present different. Philly will have to decide if they want to grind it out through Embiid or try and keep pace. I think they were ok with letting him get his because the ball stuck and rarely came back out. Hawks built that lead while he was going off trading 2s for 3s

You don't need a hockey change to press. At all. Obviously it would be helpful but not necessary.

A lot of the Hawks blunders near the end can also be attributed to not have any timeouts left in the final 1:41 of the game. Usually teams have 1 or 2 in their back pocket still. Hawks could barely inbound under the basket and failed to one time. Were able to inbound just fine from the sideline in the final minute or so.

I think he's the dude who's great betting strategy was to bet against the Hawks. Irrational. And maybe fatal to your bankroll.

20 made 3s at a 43% clip and 95% from the line. The Hawks were that broken clock today. Do you expect that to continue?

Compared him to Bird. He’s more Magic since he brings it down the court.
