Stanton was a star high school receiver like Lebron -- both are big, strong and very athletic.

I wouldn't consider Stanton athletic now. No argument that he previously was.

Look...not everyone can sustain ideal physique and still dominate for 25 years like Bartolo Colon.

Were you meaning to counter something I said here or just putting more info out there?

Stanton is an amazing power hitter!

Most amazing thing about this comp is that if you look at just HRs (and ignore all the other stuff Ronnie brings) Acuna is still ahead of Stanton at the same age despite losing most of last season to the pandemic. 2 years ago (Age 21 season) Acuna hit 41 HRs, Stanton did not have a 40 HR season until his age 27 season, he hit 59 that year.

Also, just noticed this. 2019 has been Acuna's ONLY full season so far. 2018 Debut Season, 2019, 2020 Pandemic, 2021 will be his 2nd full season

Both -- home run rates have been much higher during the entirety of Acuna's career compared to Stanton's early years. So comparing the home run totals isnt fair -- an adjustment needs to be made for the relative eras.

I wasn't trying to compare the abilities of the players. I was just noting their homerun totals at the same age and saying that Acuna is on a similar pace to what Stanton was at that age.

I remember the days when I'd read through this thread and the posts were actually about Acuna...

Instead it's turned into a thread about a highly overpaid, injury prone, DH, thats never done anything, Yankee.

Right - why are we talking about Stanton?

Sadly because there isn’t anything worth talking about Acuna...

I think it was someone saying that Stanton was on a torrid HR pace at a young age also but eventually injuries took over and his previous pace for 500 HRs seems not as much a sure thing as it was before.

The fact that 6'6" 245 lbs Stanton is even pulled in this thread is amazing. He along with Harper & Trout are probably the 3 hitters of the last decade that had a chance to eventually rank high on the all time HR list.

Proportionally by height and weight, that’s not much of a difference. 245 isn’t overly muscular at all on a 6’6” frame. I realize to the average person that sounds like a monster but it’s not. That’s pure athlete.

Stanton is all muscle. Should've added a pic for comparison:

I get it - and you’re not incorrect in that regard. I’m 6’2”, 240, pretty lean, so I get a kick when guys act like these giraffe-height mofos that are 225 lbs are gorillas. Stanton is a genetic freak for sure and I’m 99.9% sure he’s on some gear of some sort.
Hopefully Ronnie can stay healthy! He’s going to have to learn when to tone down the explosiveness and be smart in certain situations.

Does anyone remember what the 2017 Bowman mega black (1/1) Acuna went for? I know it was on Ebay several months back, and I meant to go higher on it. Can't remember what it went for, and the sites I use to look this stuff up aren't helping.

Hello fellow Acuna thread friends, I put up one of my '18 Topps Mini PSA 10 dups in BST if anyone has been looking for one. Print run of 150. Thanks!

Bought a PSA 9 graded debut ticket stub. Seller excepted $175 (maybe I should’ve offered less). Another sold since then, but they still have one listed. Thought I’d throw it out there if anyone else is into this kind of memorabilia.
