There was a price hike in mid June 2020...so any order sent in mid-June/July that arrived at PSA were caught in surge #1. That is where the bulk CTD is stuck at now...these orders. Submitters have 30 days from when they submit the form right before each price hike...so these orders weren't due to hit PSA until 7/15/20. From there, add a month until they hit enter/research stage (so mid August...which is where the CTD is stuck at now...8/9/20).

Then price hike #2 happened in October. Once orders sent in under surge #1 gets out the door, the CTD will move a bit...and then stall again with orders that arrived in Oct/Nov as surge #2 slows down the CTD once again (once the bulk CTD moves into Sept/Oct, it should move a bit until it gets into Dec 2020 where it will stall again).

This pattern will repeat each time there was a price hike and resulting surge of orders until the last price hike on 3/1/2021.

I am not talking about dealer/preferred customer orders. I have the data and personal orders to prove from myself and multiple individual submitters going back to February of 2020 all levels up to Super Express.

Agreed to a certain extent.
The surge is giving them problems but once they get past the surge the sailing should be clear for a quick pace until the next surge. There is likely not an overall higher amount of cards being submitted but just that anyone's submissions they had planned for July, august, September or October all got sent at once before the price increase. So, once that surge is over, there will likely be many less submissions than normal on the backside of it as everyone had already sent in all their stuff.

October, November, and December PSA got flooded just as much as the "surge." A quick estimation using their packages received per month, PSA had about 600,000 collectibles delivered to them each month of October, November, and December before the Jan, Feb, March 1 million collectibles each month. PSA is in this mess because there weren't big surges, it was consistently high submissions every single month. Even these non-surge months were record breaking.

Agreed...those with outstanding bulk modern orders like myself, the current CTD (at 8/9) is stuck on orders that came in June/July from surge #1. Once that is done, the CTD will move until orders from surge #2 (November "entered" orders) hits grading (I have 3 orders in this surge).

That surge has entered in dates all the way into January of 2021, I sent mine mid September and they took 4 months just to enter it

Seeing so many people saying that the tracker shouldn't be trusted... This is a Complete-Through-Date tracker. It goes off of the OLDEST order in their system for that service level that hasn't yet been completed.

Yes, they're completing other orders that are newer! It's likely that the OLDEST ORDER in their system for any given service level has issues with it and that's why it's still incomplete.

So the date that PSA is using is date entered. Is that the date in which PSA sends an email that asks us to Review Your Order for errors?

The CTD date (Entered date) is step #3, Research & ID. The step you mentioned is the Assembly step, #5.

No kidding, I’ve had my 80’s special and Jordan special (both Q2 specials from 2020) stuck in grading for 3 months, both entered 9/2 (received in June).

What would be extremely helpful if PSA update the 5-10 oldest orders per category so we can see if they are really that far behind or if it’s just 1 order that’s holding the CTD up. I have a feeling Quarterly Specials is being held up by 1 order where there is an issue (payment, etc)

I would've gladly paid a few more $ for Value TCG if I had known that last year. 18th August, so close and yet so far.
