Thanks. I'd like to pick one up, but was expecting I'd have to wait until the offseason to not overpay. I don't recall seeing many (any?) of these getting the "$.99 auction and let it run" treatment within the last 6 months.

Yeah, the auction thing doesn’t happen with these cards... The problem with waiting is that Vlad could reach another level in the second half, and then his cards could end being out of reach. Or maybe he plateaus, and then doesn’t make the big leap until next year... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

There's a lot of stuff that you can safely wait on and get cheaper at a later date. But anything Soto, Acuna, Tatis, Guerrero, Ohtani, Wander, or Bichette, at this point, I would buy now fully expecting to never see the prices get lower (barring mega injury or SkyNet going online). Arthur |

I agree with this. I know this is a Vlad thread and own a lot of his stuff. But I’ve been buying up Soto as his stuff has dipped the most lately. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Only the brightest young stars doing what was expected+ will be selling for more post AS break.
Vlad has an excellent chance to be in that category but tomorrow never knows on any of these guys. With Biggio and Bichette picking it up and Hernandez back they should score a TON of runs against average pitching.

Agreed, but I felt the same way back in 2018 while I was drooling over everyone's Trout collection. I bought a couple Trout's, but decided that my focus was best spent on the next up-and-comers (Acuna, Soto, Gleyber). I didn't want to be in the same position as I was with Trout with those guys in 2020+.

And Springer should be back, hopefully sooner than later. And there’s reason to believe Tellez and Gurriel will pick it up at the plate. This lineup could be lethal 1 through 8–and when Kirk eventually makes it back, maybe even 1 through 9. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Trout has struck 14 times in his 28 at-bats, and Soto has a lower OPS than Miguel Rojas. Vlad’s mini-slump isn’t too much to fret about. But to be safe, maybe you should stop nibbling. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Jeez, this guys the real deal. To think I let $500 get in the way of me and his Topps Chrome Superfractor. Ugh

Yep. Definitely wouldn’t knock one to try to elevate the other. Both premier young talents that are fun to watch. Baseball’s future looks promising with this smorgasbord of young talent we are currently blessed with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I don’t think this is complete crazy talk. It’s difficult to say that Vlad is absolutely, definitively, clearly the better player. But if you think Vlad will be better long-term, I’d say there’s an argument to be made. The easier argument might that they’re both extraordinary talents, and, along with Yordan Alvarez, they’ll be the most dominant hitters in the coming years. Regardless, we’ll all probably have a lot of fun debating this as their careers unfold. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
