Not my video and not my card. I was looking at some review for MNT because I've send some hockey to them since for hockey card it's not so bad but I've found that video that was just released.
The guy got a BGS 9.5 but he decided to crack it and send it to PSA. I would have been pissed but in fact I don't think I would have crack that BGS 9.5. https://youtu.be/4mubpwUhpYw |

I’ve subbed plenty to BGS with surface, corner, and edge issues that got 9.5s and would have been no better than a PSA 8.

he probably should looked the card over better under magnification. ive had cracked BGS 9's get PSA 10's and cracked BGS 9.5's minsize. this shouldn't come as a surprise since some cards are over/under graded.

I recently acquired a PSA 8 Magic card that was previously in a BGS 9 slab (9.5 + 3 9s). True mint card but still downgraded to an 8 with PSA. IMO still better than a BGS slab.

Have a BGS 9 lion's eye diamond that has a line almost like a pencil pushed down on it from one corner to the other.

There is a lot of range within a PSA 9. The card could have a minor dimple to almost nothing wrong or scratches all over with a white corner.

I don't like the person stuffing that McDavid into the Ultra Pro. Seeing his past videos, he mainly submits to Mint Grading Company in Canada.

Both companies grade massive amount of cards; and both have tons of flaws. Personally i see WAY more flaws on the PSA side.... but i'm sure everyone experience is different. To me; centering is more important than a minor surface issue. Front is more important than back. |

Also, BGS is not easier on surface or corners, it probably is case to case graders opinion. I had a BGS 8 from a Select football that I did not see and surface issue or corner issue.. SGC seems to be the best on surface corners, but super tough on centering. CSG.. just don’t do it.. |

I have some over graded PSA slabs and I also have over graded BGS slabs.... this isn't news.
But most of the time both companies have graded similarly outside of BGS hammering on centering and PSA hammerings on corners. |

If I ever have surface indents on a card I always send to bgs. They seem to overlook that stuff if it’s only 1. Many bgs 9.5 cards I got back that would be psa 8. It’s one of those know your companies tendencies and grade accordingly
