all you need to know about the state of baseball is that I have not seen one store in the cardinals area post on social media come look at our arenado cards or sell us yours or anything related to him and he's their biggest acquisition since la russa

Well, there hasn't been 100 social videos on him yet herding people to his cards. Just let the queue clear and his time will come.

35 games into the season with not playing his home games at Coors.
.281 AVG .340 OBP .511 SLG 6 HR 23 RBI’s OPS+ 139 I know the critics will say it’s a small sample size but to that I say it looks like he’s proving them wrong. Still absolutely solid numbers.

I'm surprised his prices continue to drop. His flagship PSA 10 has been on a steady decline for the past few months and now sits at $140-$150. Maybe it's a market correction from the spring training hype. He is on the path for another gold glove, maybe an all-star appearance, and a return to the playoffs. He is slowly building on his HOF resume. |

As a Cardinals fan, I've loved the short time we've had him here. He certainly brings an energy and charisma that we haven't had from a superstar in a very long time.

Paul Goldschmidt would like a moment for rebuttal.

His chrome updates seem cheap at $30? It doesn't help that he's playing in one of the most pitcher friendly parks in baseball. I'd put his Hall of Fame chances around 30%

Pulled these two out of repacks within a week of each other:
I'm loving Nolan. It seems like every time we need him to come through with a clutch hit or grab, he does it. He's dependable.

doesn't help Machado has much better HOF chances and i believe is 2 years younger playing for a more exciting team. he's a seen a slight bump and i'd imagine he sees a bigger bump before Nolan.

Uhhh....nah, no way. Machado is universally disliked for being a dirty player, on top of being inferior on defense. And nothing he does offensively separates him from Nolan. Cardinals aren't exactly a small fanbase, and now with him being in a more visible market on a competing team, he should get a bump before season end.

According to BBRef, he's 31st all-time for 3B in WAR at 41.6. Also: 8x Gold Gloves 4x Platinum Gloves 5x All Star 4x Silver Slugger |

Not sure I get the WAR argument from the nay sayers. It would seem to me that he is well on his way to surpassing most of the other guys listed, all while being considered one of, if not the best defensive 3b of all time.

He gets anywhere near sniffing Robinson's 16 GG's, he'll be in on the 1st ballot. Hell, I bet if he can pull off around 10-11, he's a 1st ballot. |

The quoted post is that Arenado is essentially in the HOF... right now.

I think he's going to need a few years of hitting well as a Cardinal. The fact that all of his offense has come as a Rockie hurts right now, whether fair or not. He needs to show that he is a legitimate hitter, especially with how extreme his Rockies splits are.
