Anyone who's seen the Mavs play this year know's how he's battled through the entire season with lingering injuries and refuses to come out of games like a 1970's NFL defensive player and sit for load management. Respect
Can totally picture Luka cutting off a pinky to stay in a game. Luka gonna train MMA and win the UFC belt in the offseason. Toughest man alive.

The most talented roster in the NBA... but there are two legit arguments for them not winning this year:

-Health of the Big 3
-Nash not being able to put it all together.

I don't think they even need Kyrie. With a healthy Harden and KD, they should be the favorites.

I mean he is pretty tough compared to all the other lamers sitting because they aren't 100% and have a boo boo. I don't know about you but i hate the excessive load management. Anyone that watches Mavs games can see it's quite evident he's been playing hurt all season. And when i say hurt or injured you can see him wincing in pain on the court but he never comes out of the games. That has been a regular occurrence all season. To me that is toughness and i can't say the same for many other players in the league today.

Keep in mind, he's also 22.

When KD was 22, he missed 4 games.

Same with LeBron.

Giannis only missed 2.

Even Zion, who gets a bad wrap for being an injury risk, has only missed 5.

Those are all less than the 6 Luka's missed this year.. which is also the least amount of games sat for him so far in his career.

Solid context here. It's needed with all the Luka takes. Now he's the toughest player around? Good grief.

That's not really what im talking about though. I would say it's more like the 1980's players being tough. Those guys played unless they couldn't walk. Today's game is soft with load management. All teams do it to a certain extent and some players seem to take off as many games as they want without any repercussions. It's getting worse every year.

I went in the Luka thread yesterday because I was hype about him sinking dagger after dagger to start the Brooklyn game (before he started missing) ... and then I saw the Luka > Embiid in MVP rankings takes and did a 180 right out the thread. Now I know what it’s like watching me and TJ ramble on about Ben Simmons. Also just got my first Luka in the mail today... 20-21 Supernova Galactic. I’m no h8r.

Yeah the kool aid is mixed strong.

Deservedly so in many cases but can go overboard. Especially when people own a bunch of precious'

I agree regarding load management. I can’t defend the way Philly has handled Embiid, although it’s been slightly more justifiable lately as it seems to be less precautionary and more of the occasional rest because teams beat on him.

I do see Luka wince a lot, but I’m not sure that’s the most accurate gauge for toughness. Some guys show it more openly when they get dinged.

Don’t get me wrong... I still think Luka is great.

Us fans can be delusional. I thought Simmons was gonna be a 22-23 PPG player... last year.

I know the conversation you're referring to and just so you know i do think Embiid would be right there with Jokic for MVP this season if he didn't miss 1/4 of the season. Might even win it because the Sixers are in first place.

With regards to "load management", I'll just note that Michael Jordan played in all 82 games in 9 out of his 15 seasons. He played 81, 80, and 78 games in three of the other seasons.

The only three seasons in which he played fewer than 78 games were the three in which he was actually injured.

And he played all 82 games in his final season.....at age 39.

What does that say about current players?

if you're complaining about load management and claiming how much tougher guys were before, give us names. I looked up a couple off the top of my head, and most guys didn't even play 300 games after age 30. Players nowadays know this, and want to play for 15-20 years, so who gives a crap about sitting out a handful of games each year if it means playing at a higher level for a longer overall career?

Say nothing about current players and a lot about Jordan.

It's like criticizing current players for being shorter than Manute Bol.

Not hating on the guy... but didn't Luka just sit out a game 10 days ago vs Detroit because of a sore left elbow?

I cannot wait to see the Final standings out West.

Bron already saying dumb things and he's been out for over a month..

The play in tourney is a joke. Waaaaaa

I'll never be 100% again. Waaaaaa

I'm intrigued to see if the Lakers can win a title after such a dysfunctional year.

Or will they lose in the play in or 1st round?

I was pissed watching the ending there. Then I remembered the Sixers play the Pistons and Magic twice still. No chance of the Bucks or Nets catching them. At this point it is just a matter of how soon will the Sixers clinch the #1 and be able to get Simmons and Joel extra rest

Jalen's barber needs to ditch the incandescent hairline paint filler.

Looks like he's been baptized in baby powder.
