I heard it from one of the hobby shops I watch bust product online.I guess that’s some what good news for folks that camp.I have no issue with what folks that camp and sell for profit. My only issue is when they can’t act like adults and things start to get out of hand.

How do people not understand that one Walmart’s rules have zero effect on the next walmart the majority of the time.

Normally they are company wide policies but in this case, it seems to be at manager's discretion.

In Target's case, there seems to be a baseline that they have to follow. The rest is in the hands of the managers.

I waited in line for an hour and didn't really mind. I had my brother in law meet me and we ended up talking cards with other collectors. There was nothing humiliating about it. As for the other points, you're applying a Target policy to Walmart when it comes to virtual lines and 1 pack limits. Those were just implemented on April 30 Target wide. It makes sense , makes actual collectors happy and brings a lot more customers into the store throughout the day.

I waited in line at target for cards exactly once since I usually have to work on fridays, and I had a great time. Enjoyed talking to other collectors about what we enjoy, what we are hoping to find, colluding, etc. Good times were had by all.

Good times there and only advise I would give is the weeks when NBA cards drop.Seems like some folks change into a different person.I give all you folks credit for standing in line it’s just not for me at all.I’m not one to take rudeness to well so I stay away and just enjoy the hobby.

friend of mine missed a restock at a local walmart and chatted up another dude that also just missed...........well sorta

apparently guy was there right when Vendor lady was stocking about 20 hangers and 20-30 blasters of Select

Vendor lady tells guy to "take a lap", insinuating he couldnt wait in checkout area or whatever while she was still stocking, so guy goes and walks around not very long and comes back and.............all Select is gone

We find out some other lady was waiting in Subway adjacent to Card section and swooped in and took everything. Clearly working together with Vendor

gotta love it

yes got lucky 4 times last year at WM each time Vendor/store employee just happen to put out cards on a different day. Better odds catching online.

Poor guy got tag team lol but it’s all fun in games until somebody gets seriously hurt.I’m just shock Walmart allows customer to take everything.I much rather see the cards get back door then a pissing match between customers.

Sports cards are no more at my local Walmart. Not only that, they created a shelf with only Magic and comic books. The old card space is now a "As Seen on TV" section.

Walmart’s have had almost no corporate mandates regarding cards. I have two Walmart’s within 10 minutes of my house. One stopped carrying cards 2 years ago, and the other still stocks. The stores around me are still random with stocking times and limits.

The only two corporate baseline’s at Target over the past two years were the no return policy on sports cards and the recent Friday morning stock rule.

Limits are applied differently depending on store/region.

Future generations will buy these and not sports cards.

Long-term investing is taking a huge blow.

I actually don't blame the manager. It was getting out of control. About 25 of the angriest dudes would stand there as silent as a urinal and tension that could be cut with a knife. The delivery woman would usually come late afternoon but they would be there at the crack of dawn. At the peak of dressing head to toe in eagles, flags, and camo craze; it looked like a militia recruiting event.

Ouch! Topps needs to dramatically increase production for many reasons.

Walmart and target couldn’t be on further ends of the spectrum when it comes to cards. I don’t need to reiterate everything target has been trying to do to level the playing field both online and in store. Walmart on the other hand has a website that is so completely botted normal people don’t even try to buy cards there, and they still have stores that drop the product on the sales floor and let the customers go battle royal style to see who gets what.

And yes as someone mentioned previously, the store manager has complete discretion to stop selling cards if they want.

I don’t wait in the long lines but I have been at a store twice the past few months when the vendor was stocking. Each of us that were there were able to get a few things and we left without any issues. I know there are some crazy stories going down, but I wonder if the same people criticizing those that “camp” in line have ever waited at a Black Friday event for a large TV, video game release, toys for their kids etc. With my kids I sure have, at ToysRUs, Target, BestBuy and Walmart. I’ve also waited in line for a new movie release. Yea there are many creeps that are in the hobby to buy and flip, but there are some that are in it just to find something to rip or stash. I was happy to walk out of Target at 10 am last week with a box of Select FB. No lines, no hassle.

That’s a good analogy. Black Friday every week would be painful for the employees assigned to cards. Target may have figured it out finally.

As people walk by and go why are these grown ass men standing on line? Someone says sports cards and they all giggle.

It is not just cards. Target has been well known to be anti-reseller compared to Walmart for many years. It is not surprising they have been more aggressive in managing the card situation.

grown men talking about sports cards on an online forum is cool, though.

Considering trying Target Fri 8AM thing as my Walmart went from 1 item a day at the customer service to all-you-can-eat-buffet with piece of paper taped to the shelf saying 1 item per customer per day. I think it maybe cool to chat with local collectors as I am guessing flippers not waiting for a single pack though I guess if they have nothing to do the chance at a mega box of release X maybe worth it to them.

When was the last time Target did some re-stocks online? I have been checking on Tuesday mornings for the past 2 or 3 weeks an I didn't see that they released anything.

The problem with our WM is when I went two weeks ago and saw the signage (Pokemon and Sports Cards will be at Customer service on Thursdays Mornings 2 of each type)..it's vague what type actually means. I'm assuming it means 2 sports cards and 2 Pokemon..but there's no doubt the typical group of jackasses that dominate our town will raise hell and get two of each SKU (I've seen them whine and complain in person..it's pathetic). Plus with it being on Thursdays...they don't have to split between Fridays at Target anymore (even though Target is equally confusing because they have the 1 item per guest per day and no longer have any references to Friday mornings so I'm guessing it's just back to normal?). Anyways I guess what I'm saying for our town none of the changes matter because the same guys get everything at every Walmart at Target (and even Dollar Tree).
