Hey all,
Looking to crowd source a little from other collectors. What do you think of singles verses lots. We have a ridiculous amount of pitchers Kershaw, Scherzer, DeGrom and also some others like Chapman, Meadows, McKay, Devers. We also have a LOT of Arenado but mostly Rockies and missed his trade. A $10 sale even if it's 10-15 cards is feeling a bit better to me than the single .99 or $2 sales with this new shipping method. My PWE shipping has improved drastically with adding the extra postage for 20 cents for non-machinable and they get tracked A LOT more now - but seems like it shouldn't need to happen with this method. What do you think 5-15 cards of a player for the Bubble Mailer (sometimes I go to a flat rate too if people buy a lot of auctions) or keep rocking singles on eBay?

Looking to maximize profit? Sell singles
Looking for quick sales with less time spent? Sell them in lots

Lots sell but for me they have always moved slower than single cards. I often buy lots on Ebay just to list individually.
If you are getting more tracked by using the non-machinable then that is really defeating the purpose of non-machinable. I personally do not care if they are tracked at all I continue to handle them the way I have for years if the buyer says it was not delievered I refund. The good transactions more than make up for the bad ones. I never even bother to look at if they are tracked. The only thing the tracking does now is increases the odds I block the buyer. If it shows delievered I tend to block them if it shows nothing then it is what it is. Either way I refund them. I have shipped them at the 51 and non machinable rate and only had 2 real issues out of around 1500. |

I typically move current, popular, and/or rare (even if not super popular) in singles and less popular, common, and/or past uniform stuff in lots. I shift focus between current guys in-season and retired guys in the offseason. Granted I only do football.

It's a tough choice for sure. I think I'd go bigger lots (say 10+) or keep it to 4 or under to use the PWE shipping. Even with 10 cards in a lot you're paying more per card in shipping.
I had to make a decision on this for this week with several auctions. I broke it in to a bunch of smaller lots. I think I'll risk up to 8 cards if they are cheap enough. FWIW, I've shipped as many as 24 junk era base in a PWE. Not something I'd do on a regular basis, but it got there.
