so why do we have to pay $2 for an "elite upgrade" to list an item thats already on the site? Its such a scam, if you dont tell them about not getting a high res pic, it wont even be rescanned. Its just a tax for absolutely no benefit

Same could be said for 3 week guaranteed processing, rushed shipments, etc...

They dont seem to follow through on much of anything nowadays.

a bit out of the loop with comc, but i bought a 400 dollar card through comc on ebay. are they ever going to ship it to me?

Looks like plenty have had ebay step in after 5 weeks to force refunds. If people are silent, it probably could get that bad.

Anyone know how long COMC gives an auction winner to pay before they file NPB? Also, if that happens does COMC repair the card or does it go back into your inventory?

In my experience it just gets stuck in limbo.

The only card I have left in my account was a NPB auction from about three months ago. When I try to do anything with it, COMC tells me there's a pending sale. I've emailed them about it a few times, shockingly no response. I've given up on it at this point.

A while back, there was a lot of hue and cry on this board about a seller or possibly a small group of sellers allegedly trimming items, getting them graded by PSA as high grades, and selling them on COMC.

As a result, COMC came up with a Draconian trimming policy where any card which is found to have been altered would receive a condition review and a high res scan, returned to someone's account (possibly the person who submitted it, possibly a hapless flipper) and someone would be charged $10.

Cards listed over $100 under the new system are required to get this condition review and elite scan upgrade. If the card was already scanned as elite, then no $2 fee is necessary. If the card was not, then they charge the $2. It's not just for the scan. It's also for the condition review where they check for tiny flaws and possible trimming.

The same thing happens with cards which are submitted to auction. When COMC started with auctions, I sent a bunch of stuff to auction. A couple dozen items, some of which had been in my account for many years, were deemed to be "trimmed" or "altered" and are now unsalable on the site. Even though most of these are cards which were already in poor condition, and any "trimming" was probably done by an 8 year old in 1955 with a pair of safety scissors.

I would look at the expected delivery date. It’s probably way in the future.

About a month ago I would say it should get there in time eventually, although could be a while. Now I’m not so sure, and who knows if they are even planning on shipping some of these.

None of my eBay wins have been shipped from multiple weeks ago. This is almost unheard of on eBay- I really hope ebay steps in and does something soon.

I purchased a card on 3/15 with original delivery date of 3/30.

It hasn't shipped. I've asked twice with obvious knowledge of COMC delays and the messages are essentially asking me to just cancel the transaction. They really don't want to ship or just seem incapable of catching up.

the 30 day item not received window is an option at that point. I want the card but very low expectations that it will get resolved in a timely manner.

COMC responded back to a message from me a few months ago, and confirmed that "Reprice as Elite" is different than "Reprocess as Elite." If you reprice as Elite, they just charge you $2 and did't plan to go back and rescan the item or review it again. I highly recommended that they do this, since their website claims that all Elite items *deserve* high res scans.
Tim Getsch was scheduled to be on Sports Card Live's youtube channel tonight for an interview. Not sure if it's still a go or not.

eBay continues to offer COMC front page auction promotions. Not sure that eBay is going to be the solution.

I can tell you pretty confidentally Ebays algorithym is kicking their fixed price listing further down the line. I have been listing a ton of low end cards and when looking them up on Ebay COMC has generally been near the top nearly all the time in those check. Now they are often showing mid page or lower. Had one a few days ago they were midway down the second page of results.

Auctions are handled under a different process and not affected by other issues that affect the search ranking of fixed price items.

Yes they are. They charge you upfront for shipping and price gouge you on it because they need the money to keep the business afloat. With the massive delays in shipping, a decent company would not charge you the shipping costs until the order was shipped.
