[QUOTE=Junior2430;17148414]Had those pics of the super from before I graded it, you can see how well it presents in these even better than the scan on Goldin (although Goldin’s scan is nice too). It’s just tricky to catch the lighting right.

If it’s allowed per forum rules, if the super reaches:

-$50k before Buyers Premium (BP), I am giving away this psa 9 acuna update bat up

- $100k before BP, I am going to give away this psa 10 acuna update bat up

- $200k before BP, I am going to give away this bgs 9 bat down

- $300k before BP, I am going to give away this bgs 9.5 bat down

I will give each card to a random person in this thread who posts between now and the end of the auction, Saturday 4/3- as each threshold is (hopefully hit). The same person cannot win more than one card!

If this isn’t allowed per forum rules, let me know and I’ll remove the contest. Just want to give back and have a little fun, especially with all the well wishes I am receiving here with this sale.

Good luck with the sale!!! I will keep up with the auction to see how it progresses.

Awesome contest. Best of luck on the sale. That Acuna is nothing short of incredible. Puts my small Acuna collection to absolute shame haha

I admittedly was a little bummed when it came back a bgs 9/10, but it was only .5 away from a bgs 9.5 overall and since it’s a very hard to notice imperfection and on the back, it displays beautifully- as a 9.5/10 would. Plus like you said it’s a 1/1 and still overall in mint condition. The card has a great shine too it and real bold auto too that is hard to pick up in pics.
Great card. Just curious and in case anyone else also wonders. How long did the process of you sending the card to Goldins and them putting it up for auction take? Hope the auction meets your expectations and more.

Same issue... my bid didn’t go through as I was bid over

I’m still kicking myself for not bidding harder on the one that sold in the fall

Thank you. Great question, it was super easy and Ken Goldin and Steve Lucas (VP, Vintage and Modern Card Operations) are pure class and super responsive. From contacting them to signing contract was super quick. They could have had the card listed probably within a week or 2 of us talking (including time to ship) but I asked to hold off until end of Spring Training for this specific auction. They offered to do whatever I wanted but I felt strong about the timing. The contract is super easy process as Steve sent it electronically and it has stuff like: card title, minimum bid, timing of auction, etc.. Took me all of 5 minutes to review and sign electronically. Then I shipped the card insured and that was that. Steve then made sure to follow up once he received and check in to confirm timing before they listed to make sure I hadn’t changed my mind on timing.

This is my first time listing with them and I have some other high end items that when I sell, they will likely be going to Goldin Auctions assuming the rest of the process goes as smoothly

As of now, I strongly encourage others to utilize them- and no I do not get any commission from them for referring, haha! Sorry for the long response, hopefully this helps. If you have other ?’s let me know.

My high was $1150. I try to not look at the past in the card world. Tends to hurt. If I could see the future in the card world. I'd be a much richer man and I'd have a lot more money.

And just to be clear, any post by anyone in this thread between now and 4/3 will be counted in the contest. Regardless if the post is about the super or my sale or not. If the winner doesn’t want the card they win, they can give it to someone else.

I’m just glad the acuna thread is bumping again, felt like it slowed down there for a while. Opening day seriously can’t come fast enough! I really want to see if he can go 40/40 or 50/50.

Wow! Lots of fire in this thread tonight. Granted, only 1 card but it's a legit grail card and I think this is the first time I've seen the Super Auto.

Good luck with the sale. I can't imagine letting go of that card, so I imagine it's a bit bittersweet but as others have said, there likely won't be a better time than now...
