I'd argue this is the second time it's happened. A sign of the end times? Possibly.

Not a big fan of the Vides, definitely not buying one, but it does seem like he's putting in a bit more effort than he did with P2020.

No idea what is going on with this Mantle. The off centered borders take up more of the card then Mantle does

vides mantle - not my favorite, but I think I'm gonna have to buy one. pretty big deal for topps to get MM back on board.
coco gamble - very fun card, but can't/won't spend $20 on it. loved the original/source.
rickey - I'd choose an OMA card each and every day and twice on sunday over stuff like this.

Print runs this week will be interesting. I'm kind of surprised how well they've maintained without dropping off too much. I'd expect Gehrig and Mantle to be strong numbers, but will the rest of the more "common" (for lack of a better term) cards continue to sell in the 2000-3000 range? Can the Coco crack 2000? I'm probably a bad judge of it though, I though the Bobby Hundreds Strawberry would be sub 2k.

The coincidence is too spot on to be a coincidence.

The Vides Mantle is a perfect Vides design. I really like it.

Bronson cards are funny, I am not buying any, yet.. Waiting for him to do a painting style of his rather than weird photoshop on purpose.

I maintain (general life philosophy until the lottery payout is large enough for one ticket Expected Value to exceed cost), that only the first lotto ticket is 'worth' buying. If I need a foil of a card, I'd rather buy on aftermarket than spend $1,450 trying to land 4-6 on average (this was last year's math). This year there is no sense in buying large quantities unless you want lots of base cards.
When every other order falls exactly to the 20 to 1 mark, and others have received the same that is not random. In my 10+ other orders I got exactly a 20 to 1 distribution. I understand math quite well and you are correct in your coin flip analogy, but logic is another thing. It is fair to make assumptions when the math fits so perfectly. We will agree to disagree.

Here's a peek at my next @Topps #Project70 card
Can't wait for you to see the full card soon (tonight?)!

The Mantle reminds me of this one, which was my first Mantle (since it was his cheapest). It’s Mantle as a home run-bashing superhero, Mantle performing under the constant pressure and bright lights of NYC, Mantle as the most famous baseball player in the ‘50s.

I like the card, but as Oli said last night, I wish Vides could have made the contrast between Mantle and the crowd a little stronger to make Mantle stand out more.

Oh my. Shots fired. haha

Spahn was far more than just a compiler. 4 straight NL strikeout crowns and was the preeminent pitcher of the 50’s.

Lead the league dozens of other times in many many different categories. Dominant through age 42...only 1964-65 showed signs of slowing down.

Top 10-20 all-time in almost every meaningful category.

Despite all of this...a niche interest for P70.

Case and point: take a look at the photo gallery on the complete game leader page and see what’s different about Spahn. ha
