Just bought 10 hangers for $16 a piece from SX so we'll see how that goes. Never bought from them before.

I've seen the LCS around me already start to come down on their prices.

I was lucky to get 2 cases of hangers at retail cost from an online dealer. These came in today and I ripped 1 case. These are the highlights. The best rookie parallel was an Andres Gimenez Rainbow Foil. I got between 10 and 14 of each RC.
The Olivares auto is #'d /50. The Mize is a black #'s /299. The Clemens and Johnson are unnumbered blues. ![]()

I can't believe Oliver Perez is still active and on baseball cards.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned already, but is there a big difference in terms of quality between the hangers that DO NOT have those Bellinger cards, WM hangers, and WG hangers?
Got some hangers yesterday from Target that just say chance at auto or relic on the front right corner and they were brutal. I only pulled one parallel from two hangers - a rainbow foil. |

First time trying to do pack math here:
I have the total print run as about 311,044,800 cards. With 322 SSP and 44 for the SSSP print run. (per card) I mainly tried to do this because I wanted to know just how rare those Ultra SSPs were. I could have screwed up I'm not sure how to account for inserts when working off the Platinum odds. |

Well for the SSPs a number divisible by 11 looks good.
25 SSP x 44 copies = 1,100 cards / 110 card sheets = 10 sheets of each card. With a 330 card checklist it is clear that Topps went back to 110 card sheets now. So this can help figure out production #s by trying to check out how they could be produced based on the sheet size. But that would mean re-figuring your SP #s probably. 75 cards there, so probably also run via single card sheets would be my guess. My guess is the borders are possibly back because full border cards can be cut at higher production rates, perhaps. Maybe 110 card sheets also result in less production time. Important thing this year. |

Hit a mother lode of this stuff last night at my Walmart. I said I was going to buy a Factory Set and some singles, but I just can't help myself.
Bought 4 of about 15 hangers. Left tons of fat packs there too. I'm not gonna go nuts. I left them for the flippers. Found a Mountcastle and a Dalbec Rainbow Foil. Also pulled a Trout Independence Day out of /76. The Independence Day cards aren't that great IMO. |

Should be the same pack odds across them all. Just a bad run. |

My idea of how the SPs could be made is wrong on the idea of one card sheets though; those numbers would make 1,100 of each SP.
To make 44 of them, a row of 11 identical cards could be produced 4 times. But there would be 10 of those on a sheet. Easy enough to make 8 sheets for a 20 card checklist. To make 25? Create a third sheet with 5 cards, each with 2 rows. So I still like the idea of 44 SSPs each. |

It works for the SSPs as well the real number is probably 330 of each or 3 sheets for each SSP in existence. |

I agree big time about the Indy look. Very bland compared to even 19 and especially 18. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Pulled an Adell SSP out of a pack from Barnes and Noble earlier - didn't even realize they sold sports cards until today.

My target randomly had a bunch of the $5 hanger fat packs this afternoon so I got two and wouldn’t you know, I hit a Bohm variation RC!

Do any of the rookies in this class have the potential to reach the Soto/Acuna/Tatis level? It doesn't feel like it, but maybe I'm being too critical of some of these guys.

Nope. Bohm could be a fantastic player, but he's a completely different type of player that's not something that'll quite make him have a super-high hobby ceiling. Nolan Arenado-lite is a decent way to describe his ceiling. Also, Adell's best case scenario is Matt Kemp with less speed. Carlson's is something like Andrew McCutchen. So again, not guys that did/do VERY well in the hobby. The one area where I may be wrong is if a true-ace pitcher develops. There are several of those guys. But those take years of MLB performance to get treated well by the hobby. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk |
