Default PSA charging collectors based on DECLARED VALUE is a beotch move - Fight me.

I love their services but hate that fee structure. It’s highway robbery.

Well, it’s for insurance purposes. We would all love to pay a $20 grading for for our $5000 cards, but you’ll get $100 in insurance when the UPS truck runs over your package.

Simple solution to not pay these fees that have been like this for 30 years. It’s a bit hard to find this information online but I’ll share it .

Don’t use them .

They claim that insurance is covered in the return shipping they charge. And obviously you are responsible for insuring the package en route to PSA. I have a hard time believing that it costs that much to insure the cards while it's in their possession. The real reason they charge that much is because they can.

It's a total scam. 95% of their pricing structure is meant to take a cut of every card they grade. The other 5% is service-oriented.

I like a good fight....

Kinda like how sellers offering free shipping. It's not free. It's built in the price. Do not matter what they say the fee is for this or that. Your bottom line total cost is all that matters.

Grow up and pay what they're asking or don't.

Agreed. The "insurance" thing is total nonsense. But hey, if they can get it, more power to them. Supply and demand and all that.

I only buy from sellers that have the words PSA-10/Invest in the title & with $4.20 shipping...

Sometimes I even look for PWCC Vault listings that have $420.00 shipping...win win

I find it extremely annoying when people end what they believe to be a "hot take" with "fight me" or "I'll wait". I would advocate for immediate ban!

Everybody else seems to understand what your fury is over... but I’m confused.

What bothers you about PSA earning a fair share of the value they create for you?

And when you say “declared value”, you set that. So unless PSA up charges you, you can set your insurance level at whatever price and return pace you want.

I was under the impression that you have to be accurate on the price of the cards as if they were going to be slabbed as a 10, regardless of condition

Total newb when it comes to grading. What do you all base your declared value on? Do you assume the card grades a PSA 9 or 10? I assume it's better to just base it off of PSA 9 value because if you declare based on PSA 10 value, I would assume if the card grades a PSA 9 that PSA won't refund the difference. Is that right? I understand if you base off of PSA 9 value and it comes back a 10 they will come back to you and charge you more.
