Default Factory Damaged Optic orange scope Herbert

Has anyone tried to send in a factory damaged card for replacement? I pulled an Optic Herbert Orange Scope /79 out of one mega box from target. I went from completely excited and elated about the pull to full disappointment when I noticed the fat printing line going across the front of the card.

I don't have the original receipt but I do have all of the packaging and box. I've never had to send in a card for factory damage so I didn't know I needed the receipt. I've tried to call panini every day multiple times day to get some help but apparently they don't answer the phone.

Any advice is much appreciated!!

Send it back. Shouldn't take too long. Panini has a dedicated team working on retail replacements.

Hope you didn't throw away the gem mint guarantee slip that came inside the box

Good luck!

i do believe they say to send in as much as you have. IE, if you have the receipt send it, but it is not required. Double check their wording. The only card I have ever replaced was an ebay purchase. took like 6 months

Sorry for the duplicate posts I was inebriated and forgot about the first one. Thanks for all the advice. I'm sending it out tomorrow.

I've got cards from 2/20 still there for damage replacements. If you wanna wait that long, sure. Otherwise, you can sell or be glad you hit a monster card from a $40 box.

9/2020 here.. and I thought I had waited a long time.

OP, unless Herbert is your PC and unless you’re willing to accept points or a different card in return. Keep it, you can’t even see the print line in your pics so it must not be that bad,

Edit: I think I do see it, and that is pretty bad, but I still wouldn’t bother sending to Panini

Send it in and risk waiting a year.

Then they may actually just return it as is.

print lines are not damaged cards its part of the printing process so you are SOL.

If he's lucky.

They have real customers, with redemptions and points, that they completely ignore.

I think that card ends up in a box of Honors in two or three years. If he really sends it in.

Waiting since december on a heavily damaged (glue/print mistake) Prizm Silver auto of Justin Herbert. Was speaking to a Panini rep who handles damages and he basically said they are swamped forever right now so expect some waiting game.

Don't be surprised if your replacement is off centered or something else less than perfect. I sent in an Optic Purple Zion RR with a dent on the front that was perfectly centered and got back card with no dent but off centered L/R and T/B. Don't get me wrong, mine was better w/o the dent, but I think I would have kept your card with the print line and excellent centering.

A lot of your posts lack common sense because you’re hoping it’ll make the gang laugh, and you couldn’t have summarized that better here^

We have. Guys who have been on the board for some time thinking they “do things the right way” by condemning and generalizing every condition thread the exact same way. Every. Single. Time.

Literal gap in the printing film underneath the surface coating that should be caught and scrapped.

How much common sense are we lacking here guys you’re starting to worry me?

Guess you missed the post right below mine

I get it. If the cards not perfect out of the pack you send it back for replacement and have to wait a long time to get the new card. Common sense

See but that’s where like, you didn’t get it?

It’s ok to pull a card with a soft corner. It is not ok to pull something quality control should be all over.

Like...do you get it? Do you?

The answer to this is almost always "no".

Do you get it? That’s the real question. Quite a few threads have posted little damage. The guys first photos no one could see anything. Did you miss that?

Panini has had this same issue for years. Lots of very nice cards out there with that ridiculous strip across the card where the pattern, in this case Orange Scope, doesn't get printed for whatever reason. I have a 2019 Kyler Murray Orange Lazer with same issue and saw it on a lot of 2018 Optic basketball. Not sure if it happened much before 2017, but since 2018 it's far more common than it should be. Definitely effects eye appeal a ton, but I've seen PSA 10's and 9's with this issue which is just insane imo as it's obviously flawed and not a little.

Looking for rare Jameis Winston rookies (Prizm White Sparkle, Gold Vinyl, etc), 1/1's and jersey #'d stuff.

This card would get an 8 or 9, easy.

You dont deserve a replacement. Hope they send you the same card back in 2 years.
