One thing that I do really like about Skee and his cards is that you can see that a lot of effort went into his decisions and process with his first two. I appreciate what he's doing, especially with the breakdown of the art/card and the added Spotify list to really make it a package deal. This is more of what I was expecting out of the newer artists, especially because some of them were already known and had support in here prior to the first card drop. Plus, they had P2020 as a type of template for what worked and what didn't. That being said, I'm not currently planning on buying this one, mainly because I'm trying to cut back after the last set, but I'll probably end up talking myself into a purchase before the window closes to go along with his Babe Ruth. I'm weak.

Speaking of Satchel Paige, there's a book on the Indians 1948 season coming out later this month. It sounds promising:

this. not everyone is going to like the work of every artist, but I think one thing we can all agree on is that the when the effort is clear, it's appreciated by most.

when the work appears lazy (even if it wasn't), that's when the pitchforks come out.

Exactly. When an artist like DJ Skee goes to great lengths to share his vision, it shines a bright light on those (artist) that are phoning it in.

Traditional artists are just as prone to talk at near endless lengths about their work as well. Wether its two fields of blue paint or a near photo realistic oil painting of a woman pouring a pitcher of milk.

I know someone who went to Juilliard and can only say that a lot of the 'traditional art world' is stupid.

He makes tens of thousands off of paintings of things like 2 lines because he went there...he freely admits he wouldn't if he didn't.
