What about XY? I have picked up some Flashfire sleeved booster packs. Those aren't exactly cheap though. I like Phantom Forces as well though I haven't added any of that. XY seems to be safely out of the re-print zone (unless they keep going with Evolutions re-prints).

It’s all going to be Pokémon and Mtg just look at YouTube as that’s what kids watch. Heck I even watch and they making me buy just because more affordable then sports cards. Soon I won’t look back
Agreed! The Pokemon breaks are more fun to watch for me and my whole family now. Wouldn’t have gotten back into Pokemon if it wasn’t for not finding sports cards anymore, now we love it as a whole family, pretty cool how things work out for a reason.

This sounds like it's bad for those planning to hold shining fates. I guess it's probably best to sell right away if you bought in early.

Different companies altogether really.

Japan does not reprint anything thankfully.

Thank you for that.

So, if the Japanese do not reprint, and the recent English sets do end up having significant reprints, it makes me wonder whether the corresponding Japanese sets may become more sought after?

I have noticed a jump in price recently for a number of Japanese sets (Eg, Tag Bolt, Dream League, Ultra Moon), and it would only take a slight further uptick in interest outside of Japan to see prices climb a lot further.

If the intention is to increase supply & availability of current sets, in this instance the last 4-5 Sword & Shield expansions, then I couldn’t agree more. If it’s more ambiguous and they might be going back deeper in to Sun & Moon or even sets out of competitive rotation, then for me personally that would undermine my confidence in the collectible element of the market. I therefore believe there is a balance to be found here, but am definitely supportive of more supply of current sets.

I'm planning to move all my Evolutions and Hidden Fates in the next 24 hours. I would do the same with my Champions Path but I'll wait for that to appreciate....fingers crossed!

I would suggest the same to anyone with SF. Move it quickly. Before its too late.

Modern Pokémon is way too volatile and after all it is just cartoon pictures on cards .

And sports cards are just dudes with numbers on it? lol

Ridiculous post. Everything in standard will and should be reprinted in Pokemon. Those thinking Evo will get a reprint, well good luck. Seeing it was printed from 2016-20 I find it doubtful but we'll see in time.

Agree but I don't think they're gonna reprint most of these. They had to give away Sword & Shield base set with a Darkness Ablaze just to move the product. Plus, they have enough on their plate with current/pending products. I will be more judicious with my singles buying on new stuff however. There's only a couple cards I like in SF anyway. I'll be more excited if the English Battle Styles set as good as these.

A big thing to keep in mind with Pokemon is that it's an actual card game, too. Card availability for tournament play is a concern if collectors are going to vacuum up sealed product. They are going to spew boxes of SS era sets out of a fire house when they can for this reason.

I wish Topps or Panini can get License to print Pokemon. Love to see that Charizard Superfractor 1/1.

I really hope this happens and it isn't just a PR move to ease people's minds. Witnessed something absolutely disgusting today.

I went to target today and of course checked the card section to find absolutely nothing. There was a woman there with her son who walked up right after me and asked if it was always liked this. After talking for a bit she had told me she came in a few weeks back and her son a pokemon card item (asked her if she knew what it was, she had no clue). and said while they were shopping around someone had taken it out of their shopping cart while they were not paying attention. She said something to a manager and they just brushed it off because she had not payed for it yet.

Signs have also been up in my target in the card section stating 2 items per customer due to high demand. Yet I was here while a customer was buying at least a dozen blasters of contenders football. At the end of the day they obviously don't care.

I really don't think it will matter if they up production. Finding anything in retail is hard enough no matter what it is. If there is more printed, people will just buy more at one time (if possible due to store policies). Long term it may drive the value down a bit, but there is still value there regardless so people will just buy more to make up for that lost profit from lesser printed past product.

And yes, that is absolutely disgusting. Some people just don't care, all they see is money to be made so taking something out of cart is beyond awful.

Best and most accurate post in the thread.
It's a damn shame grown men stalk people delivering cards to stores and snap every single one off the shelves these days lololol
