That's nuts, I use a group sub but not sure if that makes a difference.

You think the chrome refractor has room for major growth? Ive got a line on one for a decent price locally that I can probably snatch since I save the person shipping, fees and pay cash locally. 40k for a BGS 9

In my completely amateur opinion this is the card to own. There's obviously the gold and black which are much more rare, but as far as "normal" cards go this is tops. Imagine if there was a Topps Tiffany type version of Jordan's RC. That's how I view the Chrome Refractor.

I agree. It’s the “true” version and limited in mint +

At the rate things are going, I bet a psa 10 TC ref is a million dollar card BEFORE he retires.

I know very little but with way market is that doesn't seem like a bad price

Agreed. Since I'm old, I just can't help to think what a Topps Tiffany Jordan RC would go for. It might be a $3-5M card.

Congrats! They honestly all look like 10s from here. I am a believer that sending in multiples of the same card in the same sub produces a stricter benchmark if one of those cards is graded a 10.

What is the ceiling for this Lebron TC PSA 10. Do people see this reaching six figures if Lebron can grab another 1-2 championships before his career ends. The runup this past month has been incredible so maybe it needs to cool off for the next few weeks. I recently purchased a TC but I went to a card show and many collectors thought it would cap out only at 50-60k. I personally think it can go to six figures if the hobby continues to grow and new money flows in. Although Lebron has many rookie card choices, the TC is the most desired and even with the relatively high pop, I think it has still can run alot more. What does everyone else think?

I didn't have the breadth of imagination to ever see this card reaching the levels it has. I'm still skeptical it can be a 6 figure card. I'd be putting money on the base refractor and its variants having the greatest growth potential. And don't get me wrong, am happy if the base still goes up as I own a bgs 9.5.

I feel that way too... especially on a huge card like this.

Yeah it is absolutely mindboggling since this card last year was what 7k and in 2019 $2500. I am a little weary right now and will watch prices closely over next few weeks. But I bought for a long term hold and hopefully this market continues this pace lol. Also, thinking about it from a wall street perspective with all the card funds jumping in it would make sense to have 5-10 of the TC in portfolio due to their liquidity. It's almost impossible to grab 5-10 refractors at this point (assuming they are going for psa 10s). With that being said the refractors obviously will go up like crazy as well and eventually might hit that 1 million mark rather soon. It will be fun to look back at this in a year or two. I'm hoping we are still in the early phase of this boom.

Haha we shall see right, what a wild ride!

The way I think about it is it's prob safe to assume some type of potential correction at some point, could even be 30-50%. But longterm I do feel these type of cards are solid. I mostly hold longterm anyways. There was a good interview the other day with Patrick Bet-David on Sports Cards Live, and he mentioned this type of potential trajectory. A correction will surely come but long term growth should be solid (of course none of us has crystal ball but it's the prediction I'm most aligned with myself). So long as my overall financial picture is solid I figure I can afford the risk of holding cards at these valuations, and the main reason in my case for selling will usually be to try and chase another big card

130point.com says the best offer accepted was 260K.

Wow, multiple 9.5s on Goldin went for only $9k and $9500 tonight. PSA 10s for 25 and 26k. Major pull back.

Goldin isn’t the place to sell a BGS min gem. People add the 23% and it’s at the 11.5-12k range but seller only gets 9.5k... Honestly seller should just post on IG and sell direct

$222k final price but have to add buyer premium of 20% on top so really $266k. I think a better centered copy would have gone for more, this one was VERY O/C top to bottom.

Yeah, I would think these less-rare highly trafficked cards just don't draw enough eyeballs when they are competing against a range of rarer cards in a Goldin auction.

Agreed and not enough casuals on goldin to go after the base one

Like you said, the issue is with the hefty BP. How does it make any sense to overpay on a card with Goldin when you can go to eBay and find a copy from a reputable seller for cheaper? Goldin’s name doesn’t generally benefit the seller enough for anything that isn’t very high end. Example, a Kobe Ultra Platinum Medallion BGS 9.5 got $39.6k last night (before tax or CC fees). Last copy sold went for $50k through PWCC. In December, before the rush. That card is rare as hell (1:26,640 packs for Kobe) and ultra condition sensitive.

Maybe the market on Kobe is softening a bit? Which I think it is, look at Star Date sales.
