I really hope they are planning on trading Bledsoe and Reddick to open up more minutes for NAW and Kira Lewis Jr.

Default The Zion 'Fatboi' Williamson Career LDL/HDL Tracker | BBW Appreciation Megathread.

It’s hard not to like this kid. I like his humility, work ethic, and outlook on the game. Although I think that he should be more selfish at times, I like how he values each possession and doesn’t want to waste any for the sake of his team, more players should think that way.

He also doesn’t talk a bunch of trash and flop around all over the place like Embiid to draw foul calls down low. I know players are just taking what the refs are giving them, but it’s just sad to watch.

Aside from a little bit more selfishness (when it’s beneficial for his team for him to be selfish), I hope Zion never changes.

I wouldn't be shocked to see them get up and put together a really good performance against Heat on prime-time nationally televised TV.

There isn't a soul here that would point the finger at Zion as being responsible for the unsteady season thus far, but Oldgoldy made a valid point last night. Zion taking ONE SHOT for almost a 24 minute stretch after dominating the 1st period is unacceptable. SVG and the crew deserve their fair share of the blame, but Zion needs to know when to assert himself on offense when things get stagnant.

He has the ability to simply put the team on his back for stretches of time and singlehandedly get buckets and draw fouls. For whatever reason, he seems to disappear for stretches, especially when defenses switch to a zone.

After watching the JJ Redick podcast yesterday, I get the sense that Zion still feels a bit like a rookie and it's not his role to assert himself above his teammates at this point in his career. I love that he has a huge amount of humility that carries over into his game, but at some point you have to be okay with being a bit selfish when things aren't going well for your teammates.

I still really, really like the pieces this team has and their ability to be a problem for every other team in the NBA, but everything is just disjointed right now.
I'd still love to see Zion take a couple wide open 3's a game. The team was abysmal shooting last night.
I'm also still not sure why Bledsoe is getting so much PT and Kira Lewis and/or NAW didn't get in. More so Kira. He would have probably brought similar energy as Jaxson Hayes.

Oh, wait. Yes, I know why. Stan Van Dummy.

I mean Lebron will literally sit out for no reason whatsoever. At least Zion has a real reason, and it's not just "I'm tired."

I hope not - If that's truly the reason then I've given up all hope on Pels management.

A sore toe = no good reason.

He deserved a day off anyways.

Honestly, the more I think about it the more it makes sense for them to give him the night off in advance of the ASB. Since he's playing in two games over the weekend, he's not really going to have too much of a 'break.'

Personally, I'd rather see him play in a regular season game as opposed to the Rising Stars and/or ASG, but I understand that they want to give big fella a rest since he wont be getting much this weekend.

I'll admit that my initial reaction to the news was unwarranted

He's been playing heavy minutes, 2nd most in that team and has only missed 1 game this year prior to that. It's not a big deal IMO. Just happy that he's not suffering any lingering issues and is not under minutes restriction.

Would have hoped Ingram put the team on his back and showed they could win without Zion. Seem mentally they just weren’t there. Lot of costly mistakes. Hopefully this week long stretch they can get re energized and make a run

Man, you watched the game? I cant imagine many things worse than a Zion-less Pels game.

There is no Rising Stars game this year, just one game for Zion this weekend.

I agree. I actually didn’t watch it either and the 25 percent clip that the Pelicans put up from beyond the arc helped to confirm why I didn’t tune in.

If they ever want to be a contender, they have to flank Zion with a couple guys that can consistently knock down threes. It’s that simple.

He will get shooters open because the only prayer defenses have of stopping him is to collapse with multiple players in the paint when he drives. Zion has shown he will kick out to the open man, but they simply can’t shoot well enough to capitalize on the opportunities on a consistent basis.

Lol Ingram barely played. Also the young guys that played brought us back into the game, and if not for some heroics by Jimmy Buckets, we had a great chance at winning.
