Made a deal for the base PSA-9 on myslabs just before they jumped ~50%.

Also snagged a nicely centered mint raw copy a few days ago. Prices creeping up...and we're a long way from HOF induction day

So....do we think it's ripped or not ripped or I ripped or isn't ripped or is ripped? "ripped" has lost all meaning. I'll stop now. I think it's unripped. However, I won't be bidding. Unless a scan of the back gets added. Maybe.

Wow. I didn't know there was so much great Ichiro stuff! I started late collecting him. My collection is nowhere near you guys.

Small story behind this 2001 Fleer Ichiro:

About 15 years ago in a galaxy far, far away....

The seller delivered a PSA 10 to me by mistake. I looked up his Ebay completed listings and sure enough, someone else paid for this PSA 10. Being who I am, I contacted the seller and told him I purchased a PSA 9 and that he sent me the PSA 10 by accident. He was so grateful he refunded me about 40% of what I paid for the PSA 9. I know if I paid for a PSA 10 I should receive the exact PSA 10 I paid for. I could have been a jerk and kept my mouth shut, but I felt bad for the other goy expecting the PSA 10. I know I wouldn't want that to happen to me.

Oh, almost forgot, an envelope I bought from the Bay as a curiosity:

Sick Ichiro rainbow up there ⬆️

I'm surprised by how much certain Ichiro RC's have gone up lately. And yes, I realize this has been the trend as of late for a number a retired players. But this particular one seems to have gone up a lot:

I remember nabbing the Japanese text copy (which I still have) for around $99 like ten years back but would never have guessed that it would appreciate by like 11x as much all these years later.

anyone ever asked ichiro how he came up w/that auto. I would say that of players whose careers were majority 21st century event tho I'm not a mariners fan he was my favorite auto. just a unique incredibly successful player and I love these older cards especially you guys are posting. Mr. baseball was one of my favorite movies growing up and I always thought the asia pipeline was a fascinating part of the game.

If you look at his FIRST auto's, it literally says ICHIRO.

The current one is a mess.

I recently paid about $1275 dlvd for a clean raw copy of the Japanese version. Obv wish I had bought a few years ago, but I'm super happy to own it. And compared to some of the rookie parallels of modern players, the price really isn't that bad. Like, the Tatis TC Refractor PSA 10 is hitting $1200....I love Tatis, but gimme the Ichiro BC Refractor all day for that money.

Awwww man! That is absolutely awesome! I actually thought about going after the regular Topps rainbow, but after I saw how many there were, I tucked it in and walked away. Haha! I realized the Chrome version was more do-able for me.. lol.
